Job description

This position is located in Puerto Rico and requires the ability to travel around the island to meet with clients and stakeholders. Commutable to our Guaynabo, PR, ICF office for essential meetings.
ICF is seeking a skilled Senior GIS Specialist for our GIS operations in Puerto Rico. As a global consulting services company, we are dedicated to making big things possible for our clients by providing specialized expertise and innovative solutions to help achieve their goals. The ideal candidate will have real-world experience in leveraging Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and spatial analysis. This role involves creating, updating, and maintaining spatial and design data to support various projects within our organization.
What you will be doing:
  • Perform data capture, updates, and analysis within ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Manage and document geodatabases and keep metadata updated.
  • Perform aerial photography interpretation and capture GIS data from raster datasets.
  • Design and develop maps as needed for both hardcopy and website use.
  • Employ various remote sensing data, including LiDAR products, to enhance maps, update elevations, and assign surface type classifications.
  • Extract and develop data from a variety of sources including engineering drawings, survey plats, tax records, and plat maps.

What you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 5+ years of experience with managing cadastral data creation and editing using the ESRI ArcGIS suite.
  • 5+ years of experience correctly implementing fundamental GIS concepts such as spatial projections, datums, REST feature services, feature editing, cartography, geodatabase management.
  • 5+ years of experience with GPS data collection techniques, ESRI mobile solutions (Field Apps, Survey 123, QuickCapture), and experience incorporating survey data into a geodatabase.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
  • Willing to travel up to 25% in Puerto Rico as requested.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

What we'd like you to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, planning or a GIS-related field from a four-year college or university.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively communicating technical and business requirements to both technical and non-technical users.
  • Proven capability to assist with project updates, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Experience with GIS workflow automation using tools like Python and Safe FME is a plus.
  • Experience with Azure-hosted GIS solutions is a plus.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$73,738.00 - $125,354.00
