As a key player in our team, you will engage in meaningful therapeutic relationships and work with individuals to facilitate their journey toward better mental health.

About the Organization

Located in Germantown, Maryland, SpringLeaf Healthcare Counseling Center is committed to delivering culturally sensitive mental health services. We pride ourselves on our diverse team and our inclusive approach that respects the unique backgrounds and identities of each individual. Our organization values collaboration and the sharing of ideas, encouraging all team members to engage actively in case conference discussions and team meetings, which ultimately enhances patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to identify patientsโ€™ individual needs and develop tailored treatment plans that consider their backgrounds.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are personalized, drawing from various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions to address varying concerns ranging from anxiety and depression to relational and trauma-related issues.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patient care is cohesive and holistic.

  • Maintain meticulous and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Participate actively in ongoing training sessions on cultural competency, staying informed about best practices in mental health therapy.
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance your therapeutic skills and knowledge base continuously.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At SpringLeaf Healthcare, we serve a rich tapestry of patients from diverse cultural backgrounds, including ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and adults from immigrant families. This role requires an acute awareness of how cultural dynamics impact mental health, as therapists are charged with breaking down barriers to treatment access and effectiveness. Your work will greatly influence the resilience and healing journeys of those we serve, making your role critical in providing personalized and culturally competent care.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field; a Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in a relevant area is preferred.
  • Current, valid licensure to practice as a mental health therapist in Maryland.
  • Experience providing mental health counseling in outpatient or community settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong cultural competence and an understanding of how socioeconomic factors influence mental health.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective collaboration with individuals from varied backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working with diverse populations, including minority and immigrant communities.
  • Background in group therapy and family therapy modalities preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for effective documentation and coordination of care.
  • Prior training or certification in trauma-informed care or crisis intervention techniques is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive healthcare benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage.
