In this full-time remote role, you will engage with patients to assess their mental health needs, develop personalized treatment strategies, and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions. This position offers the flexibility of a remote working environment, allowing therapists to engage meaningfully with clients while managing their own work-life balance. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required based on patient scheduling. • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the unique needs of each client, analyzing their psychological, social, and behavioral conditions.
• Develop and implement individual treatment plans that are tailored to the specific needs and goals of each patient, incorporating various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups and support workshops to provide a sense of community and shared experience among clients dealing with similar challenges.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including psychiatrists, social workers, and administrative staff—to ensure comprehensive care and to develop cohesive treatment strategies.
• Provide crisis intervention services to patients experiencing acute mental health crises, utilizing established protocols to ensure safety and effective support.
• Educate clients about mental health conditions, available treatment modalities, and community resources that empower them in their recovery journey.
• Document all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately within our electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical regulations.
• Participate actively in weekly team meetings and case consultations to enhance clinical skills and to stay updated on best practices within the mental health field.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities to remain informed about the latest advancements in mental health therapies.

As a Mental Health Counselor at Lifeline Harbor, you will work with a diverse patient population, including children, adolescents, and adults, who present with various mental health issues. Your role is crucial in providing culturally competent care and understanding the unique challenges faced by different groups, promoting inclusivity and respect in all client interactions.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Connecticut is necessary.
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based therapeutic interventions is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations.
• Experience delivering therapy to individuals and groups, showcasing a practical understanding of therapeutic techniques and client management.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant technologies to enhance service delivery.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professional boundaries and ethical standards.

• Experience in community mental health settings or outpatient clinics is preferred.
• Familiarity with telehealth practices and remote patient management.
• Experience working with specific populations, such as youth or individuals with substance use disorders, is a valuable asset.
