• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly residents to identify their specific emotional and psychological needs.
• Provide individualized and group counseling sessions that address the intricate emotional challenges tied to aging, including grief and life transitions.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to formulate and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to the unique needs of each resident.
• Educate families and staff on techniques to enhance emotional well-being and improve the overall quality of life for elderly individuals.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling for residents and their families facing end-of-life issues, helping to navigate the complexities of these experiences.
• Implement cognitive stimulation and mental health interventions aimed at preserving mental acuity and supporting emotional health in older adults.

This role primarily focuses on the geriatric population, including seniors dealing with emotional distress related to aging, chronic illness, and bereavement. With an increasing number of older adults seeking mental health care, it is critical that our team possesses a deep understanding of the unique challenges this population faces. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving their mental well-being and enhancing their capacity to cope with life's changes.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution or university.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential is essential.
• At least four years of recent professional experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support is required.
• Specialized training in geriatric mental health is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to provide counseling services tailored to elderly individuals navigating various mental health issues.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based practices for promoting mental health in the geriatric population.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with elderly residents and their families.
