Position Overview

Diversicare Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. This role is essential in providing supportive and effective mental health services, primarily focusing on individuals experiencing mood disorders. The position offers a competitive salary between $80,000 and $100,000 annually, along with a sign-on bonus to welcome you to our organization.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you to provide therapeutic services from the comfort of your home while maintaining flexibility in your work life. Our telehealth facility enables you to connect with clients across various demographics in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and beyond. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend shifts on a rotating basis to accommodate client needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to discern the severity and frequency of mood disorder symptoms presented by clients, using standardized evaluation tools and interviews.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, integrating their personal goals and preferences into actionable strategies.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address mood disorders.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment modalities, and self-care practices to bolster their understanding and involvement in the healing process.
  • Consistently monitor client progress throughout therapy, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document changes effectively to ensure optimal care.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to create a holistic approach to each client's treatment, ensuring a cohesive strategy is upheld across services.
  • Stay abreast of current research and best practices in mood disorder treatment and participate in continuous professional development.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential records of client sessions and treatment plans, adhering to all legal and ethical standards.
  • Lead and participate in case consultations and team meetings, contributing to collective clinical knowledge while fostering an environment of shared learning.
  • Advocate for clients by addressing stigma associated with mood disorders and promoting accessible mental health care options.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position serves clients primarily dealing with mood disorders, which include depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related issues. Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Massachusetts.
