A Step Ahead Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This role is critical to our mission of providing outstanding mental health care to individuals in need. As a licensed mental health professional, you will engage with clients, assess their mental health challenges, and collaborate with them to develop tailored therapeutic interventions. This position is designed for remote work, allowing you to provide counseling services from the comfort of your own environment while maintaining the high standards of care that our patients expect. • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health conditions during initial consultations, utilizing effective and standardized evaluation tools.
• Draft and implement individualized treatment plans based on clients’ unique needs and evidence-based best practices.
• Regularly meet with clients, providing ongoing support and utilizing therapeutic techniques aimed at addressing various mental health issues including anxiety, depression, and trauma.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing culturally responsive methods that resonate with the diverse backgrounds of your patients.
• Collaborate with external providers such as psychiatrists and support groups when necessary, ensuring a holistic approach to mental health care.

You will work with a diverse array of clients, including those struggling with substance abuse, mood disorders, trauma, and eating disorders. Your ability to connect with clients from various backgrounds is crucial. Understanding the cultural context of your clients will enhance your effectiveness in therapy, making it essential to approach each session with empathy and sensitivity. Furthermore, familiarity with integrative treatment modalities will optimize client engagement and outcomes, aligning with our center’s commitment to individualized care.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Nevada.
• A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience working with a variety of mental health conditions and patient demographics.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based treatment approaches, mental health disorders, and therapeutic interventions.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and client management.

• Experience in conducting group therapy sessions and therapeutic workshops.
• Demonstrated ability to implement crisis intervention strategies effectively and remain composed under pressure.
• Prior experience in collaborative treatment settings with multidisciplinary teams.
• Deeply rooted commitment to ethical practices, maintaining confidentiality, and establishing professional boundaries.
