JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The College of IST is seeking applicants for part-time job of Summer Research Assistant.

Job duties to include:

  • The Department of Human-Centered Computing and Social Informatics at the College of Information Sciences and Technology has a part-time opening for a Summer Research Lab Assistant. This individual will assist in the development, design, and execution of studies evaluating large language models (LLMs) for multilingual mental health support, under the general direction of senior research personnel. Responsibilities include contributing to experiments and benchmark evaluations, collecting and processing data, and supporting the project through gathering, summarizing, and interpreting information on relevant literature, emerging trends, and best practices in AI safety, health communication, and cross-cultural research.

Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:

  • Familiarity with large language models and/or NLP concepts
  • Experience with qualitative or quantitative research methods
  • Familiarity with benchmark dataset construction or annotation workflows
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The starting rate for this job is $25
