What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Government Contractor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Government Contractor, you need expertise in your specific field (such as IT, project management, or administration), knowledge of government regulations, and often a relevant degree or security clearance. Familiarity with government procurement systems, project management tools, and secure communication platforms is common. Strong written communication, attention to detail, and self-motivation are critical soft skills for success in this remote and regulated environment. These abilities ensure compliance, effective collaboration, and reliable delivery of services to government clients.

What is a remote government contractor?

A remote government contractor is a professional or company that provides goods or services to government agencies while working from a location outside of the government’s physical offices. These contractors may work in fields such as IT, consulting, engineering, or administration and are typically hired through a bidding or proposal process. Remote government contractors are responsible for meeting contract requirements, maintaining security standards, and communicating regularly with government representatives. They must also comply with policies and regulations specific to government work, such as security clearances or confidentiality agreements.

What are some common challenges faced by remote government contractors, and how can they be managed effectively?

Remote government contractors often encounter challenges such as navigating strict compliance requirements, maintaining clear communication with government clients, and managing secure access to sensitive data. These can be addressed by staying up-to-date with federal regulations, utilizing secure communication tools, and establishing regular check-ins with team members and clients. Building strong organizational habits and leveraging collaboration platforms can help ensure project milestones are met and expectations are clearly understood.

Job description

BOOST LLC is a management consulting firm built specifically for government contractors. We provide comprehensive back-office support across accounting and finance, contracts and procurement, pricing, human resources, recruiting, and cybersecurity compliance. Our team brings deep GovCon expertise across all of these disciplines, partnering with clients at every stage of their growth.
About the role
BOOST LLC is seeking a Senior Contracts & CPSR Administrator to join our team of contracts administrators dedicated to supporting Government Contractor (GovCon) clients. This is a 100% remote role.
In this role, you will provide contracts administration and CPSR compliance support to BOOST consultants across their portfolio of GovCon clients. This role demands someone who has impeccable time management and can juggle competing priorities. If you thrive in variety, enjoy learning while still accomplishing tasks, and want the breadth of exposure that comes with supporting multiple GovCon companies at once - this role is built for you.
Key responsibilities:
Contract Administration
Under the supervision of a consultant-
  • Provide cradle to grave contract and subcontract administration for assigned clients and their government contracts portfolio, including competitive, sole source, and directed prime and subcontract awards.
  • Review client solicitations and prepare FAR and supplemental regulation compliance matrices and risk identification.
  • Review and redline NDAs, teaming agreements, subcontract agreements, contract modifications, and other agreements within delegated authority limits.
  • Create contract briefs or summaries for awarded contracts/subcontracts highlighting key contract data in either a CLM tool or manually.
  • Proactively identify and communicate potential non-compliance issues and other challenges before they escalate.
  • Coordinate agreements, subcontracts, and other contract and program support documents with leadership, accounting, legal, program management, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide proactive support, management, and tracking of contractual documentation, action items, and critical data.
  • Manage and streamline daily work activities to ensure compliance with corporate, contract, and federal requirements.

CPSR Compliance
Under the supervision of a consultant:
  • Evaluate client purchasing policies and procedures against FAR/DFARS standards - identifying gaps and recommending practical, implementable updates.
  • Review purchase orders and subcontracting instruments for CPSR compliance, flagging deficiencies and supporting corrective action.
  • Assist with CPSR preparation activities including first-pass policies and procedures review

What success looks like
  • Quality deliverables - agreements, modifications, and other documents are compliant, thorough, and well-supported.
  • Team contribution - consultants and client staff can rely on your timely and accurate completion of work.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
  • 5 years of professional experience with a federal government contractor covering the following:
    • 2-3 years of on-point FAR based contracts or revenue generating subcontracts experience working for a government contractor or within a government contracting division.
    • 3 years of experience managing subcontracts or major vendor purchased within a CPSR compliant system.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented, accountable, and adaptable with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in MS 365 Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary: $90,000-$110,000 (commensurate with experience).Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with matching and more.
  • 100% remote position.
  • Exposure to a wide range of GovCon clients, contract types, and industry environments.
  • Professional development and growth opportunities within a scaling firm.
  • Collaborative, supportive team with deep GovCon expertise.
