Lead Technical Writer, Clinical AI/ML & SaMD

Grant Engine

On-site, Remote

Full-time, Part-time

Re-posted 23 days ago

Job description

Lead Technical Writer, Clinical AI/ML amp; SaMD
We are seeking a Lead Writer to partner closely with a Program Manager in developing high-stakes federal proposals (e.g., ARPA-H, BARDA, SBIR) for industry-focused clients. The work will span regulated clinical AI and adjacent biomedical AI product development, including SaMD clinical support tools, autonomous patient-facing and clinical workflow agents with post-deployment oversight and safety monitoring, computer-vision image analysis systems, and AI-enabled medical devices (including edge AI and/or surgical robotics), with additional exposure to computational AI for drug discovery.
This is NOT a general grant-writing or editing role. We are seeking someone who can shape reviewer-credible technical narratives at the intersection of clinical AI/digital health development and deployment, rigorous validation and safety monitoring, SaMD regulatory and authorization requirements, and milestone-driven program design. They will lead the full range of technical activities required to conceptualize, prepare, and deliver grant proposals to NIH, DoD, and other government agencies. The ideal candidate is comfortable bridging next-generation innovation with real-world execution—able to see what may be technically possible and translate it into a plan that can be responsibly proposed, rigorously evaluated, and ultimately deployed to improve human health. This role requires exceptional technical writing and cross-functional synthesis, fluency in AI/ML development and validation, and the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects each with varying deadlines for execution.
Grant Engine is focused on securing funding for leading companies that have high potential to make a difference in their domain. Our vision is to improve and extend human life by supporting our clients. In this mission, we selectively work with clients whose technology has the potential to significantly improve upon the standard-of-care. In this pursuit, we hold the following core values in high regard: Trust, Customer Success, Excellence Without Bias, Teamwork.
We realize that to build this vision, Grant Engine must be a leader in the field. We identify innovation from every corner of our company and we are committed to innovation in every facet of our work. Each of us works to get results by employing, or pioneering, cutting-edge techniques in communication and program management to realize our vision. We know that every detail matters. We are committed to successfully delivering on our goals so that our partners can deliver on theirs. Everyone on our team realizes that when clients win, our mission is accomplished.
A key tenet of the Grant Engine team is that we work well together! We trust one another’s judgment and have established an effective team dynamic of delivering on our individual responsibilities to best serve our clients.
This position is part-time or full-time opportunity. Individuals with superior skills and a demonstrated track record will be considered for immediate full-time hire.
