Role Overview

Catalant is seeking a Managing Partner to join Catalantโ€™s rapidly growing Private Equity GTM Team. Our value proposition as an alternative to traditional consulting continues to resonate with PE firms, Portfolio Operations Teams, Value Creation Teams and Portco Executives. As Catalant has grown and evolved, so has the size, scope and complexity of our consulting engagements.ย ย 

The Managing Partner will work with our Private Equity team to help take Catalant to the next level.ย  The Managing Partner will partner with our Client Directors, Client Partners, and Associates to drive deeper client relationships, discuss and frame our clients strategic business challenges, guide a strategic and consultative selling process to a close, and articulate Catalantโ€™s value proposition and capabilities.ย  The Managing Partner will advise our Client Directors on their strategy and help elevate the skill set on the Client Directorโ€™s team.ย  This individual contributor role is ultimately responsible for driving revenue growth in Private Equity by positioning Catalant as a strategic alternative to traditional consulting models, competing directly with MBB, Big 4, and large advisory firms.

What you'll do

Client Facing Activities

  • Spend roughly 70%+ of time on client-facing activities and interactions (e.g., meetings, virtual calls, events, conferences, etc.) with Catalantโ€™s PE Team members.ย  Clients include PE Managing Directors, Operating Partners and C-level executives and VP+ at PE portfolio companies.ย  Expect roughly 35% travel, but no more than 50%.

  • Partner with the PE Team members, engage with clients to position Catalant as a key enabler to unlock solutions to their strategic initiatives.

  • Develop large consulting opportunities with Client Partners and Associates and drive opportunities to close byย  developing consulting solutions that align with clientโ€™s strategic goals. Present these solutions to highlight Catalantโ€™s unique value proposition.

  • Work with Client Partners to expand relationships within their Private Equity clients and earn the right for Catalant to be considered a trusted advisor.

  • Support and advise Catalantโ€™s PE Team members to design comprehensive client engagement plans (i.e. key account plans) to deepen the client relationship and grow wallet share.

Thought Leadership

  • Provide thought leadership and input to productized consulting solutions & capabilities required to deliver against current and future demand.

  • Thought partner to the Client Directors, Cross-functional VPs, and Executive Leadership Team to help propel Catalantโ€™s Private Equity business.

Team Development

  • Partner with Client Directors to mentor and help elevate Client Partner and Associates skill set as it relates to consultative selling and building equal business stature relationships with their clients.

What you'll bring
  • Recent management consulting experience demonstrating progression with a top-tier consulting firm (e.g. McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Big 4 or equivalent).ย  Preference for former Partner or equivalent with significant business development experience.

  • 20+ years of work experience (combination of management consulting and operating experience is ideal) with 10+ years of business development experience in management consulting.

  • Deep understanding of Private Equity including a network of PE Managing Directors and/or Operating Partners.

  • Proven ability to win business head-to-head against MBB, Big 4, and other consulting firms.

  • A passion for mentorship with the ability to deliver positive and constructive feedback.

  • MBA required, MBA from a Top 25 program strongly preferred.ย 

The above is the on-target earnings range in the Managing Partner role which consists of a base salary & variable compensation. Variable compensation is uncapped. We also offer additional accelerators and stock options.
