Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for an Account Manager to help us grow our Furniture & Bedding division in South Central US. This position is responsible for building and maintaining business relationships with furniture and bedding clients through prospecting, planning, and effective communication.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the Account Manager, you will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing customers, ensuring exceptional service while proactively identifying new business opportunities. Provide prompt follow-up and effective resolution of customer and internal issues, while demonstrating strong time management skills and flexibility to travel as needed. This is a remote opportunity working from a home office.

Your additional responsibilities as Account Manager will include:

  • Develop a strong understanding of Carpenter Co.’s products, capabilities, and market applications
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing customers, ensuring exceptional service while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
  • Forecast, monitor, and analyze sales performance, including historical trends and pipeline projections, while staying informed on competitive market dynamics
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with plant personnel, R&D, and management to address customer needs and deliver effective solutions
  • Partner with customers to develop innovative, market-relevant product solutions that support growth within key segments
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports, including call activity, expenses, and mileage
  • Travel regularly to meet with customers and represent the company at industry events and trade shows

Skills/ Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or other related discipline
  • 3+ years of proven business to business sales
  • Experience in Salesforce
  • Prior experience in bedding, furniture, or foam knowledge preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Ability to thrive in a competitive sales environment dealing with a variety of customers at all levels of an organization
  • Proactive critical thinker and problem solver
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • This is a remote opportunity working from a home office. The territory for this position is in South Central US. Therefore, the selected candidate must reside near Oklahoma City, OK or surrounding areas.
