Job description

The purpose of our Senior Business Immigration Case Manager is toprovide overall team support for the management of enterprise client accounts, or multiple mid-market accounts. In this role, you will be accountable for exercising independent judgment and applying extensive immigration legal experience and guidance, to ensure that the immigration needs of enterprise clients are met, whilst supporting attorneys and other senior staff with specific initiatives. You willย be responsible forย ensuring theย appropriate clientย team is managing communicationsย in a timely manner, meeting SLA's, reporting, all while providing excellent client service andย a positiveย employee experience.ย ย 

What you'll do:ย 

  • Manage case strategy meetings, client development activities, town hallย meetingsย and legal seminars provided to clientsย 
  • Review immigration petitions prepared by Paralegals and Senior Paralegals, andย identifyย (and help resolve) any current or potential issuesย ย 
  • Support attorneys (and other senior staff) with the development of legal staff training initiatives; updating Firm processes/procedures/technologies, and undertaking other initiatives asย requiredย 
  • Oversee the effective assignment of cases to Paralegal and Senior Paralegal staff to ensureย appropriateย and balanced workload within teamย ย 
  • Support team with drafting of case documents, statutory forms, and templated letters of support, as per strict deadlines for a range of NIVs and PERM applications (end to end) including petitions for key accounts/enterprise clientsย 
  • Generate reportsย regardingย visa processing metrics, for internal measure and client feedbackย 
  • Use discretion, experience, and decision-making ability toย identifyย and resolve problemsย regardingย case preparation, for attorney review (only asย required)ย 
  • Help to ensure that client needs are being met, and update team of communication and protocol changes, as they ariseย 
  • Provide training, guidance, conduct updates and mentoring to Paralegals, and Senior Paralegals, asย requiredย ย 
  • Attend weekly docket calls and help to prepare agenda for any visa processing-related client calls/updates andย identifyย opportunities for improvement
  • Support overall operations by having an eye towards efficiency and productivityย 
  • Manage general ad-hoc requests as needed by attorney(s) and senior staffย ย 
  • Utilize online immigration case tracking system to case status and activitiesย on a daily basisย ย 
  • Encourage and set example for positive team morale, even within a remote work environmentย 
  • Oversee that SLA requirements for all assigned clients are consistently met, by alsoย remainingย accountable for the deliverables of all relevant legal team membersย 
  • Assistย with tasks related to client program management, asย requiredย 

What you bring:ย 

  • CompletedBachelor's Degree- highly desirable.ย 
  • 7+ years of experience working as an Immigration Paralegal drafting employment-based petitions, including for more complex cases and/or high-profile/enterprise clienteleย 
  • Experience with drafting petitions for a range of NIV cases preferred: H1B, L, TN, O-1 etc. and/or experience with drafting green card processes (I-140 and AOS), and end-to-end PERM applications preferredย 
  • Experienceย allocatingย cases to team members and leading, encouraging, and training less experienced team membersย 
  • Intermediate levelย proficiencyย with MS Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word)ย 
  • You have genuine interest in US immigration, with a desire to treat clients & foreign nationals with respect and an empathetic approachย 
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including spelling and grammarย 
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure consistent accuracy of workย ย 
  • Ability to follow due process, templates, and to adapt to evolving innovation within the Firm, and industryย 
  • Excellent organizational skills andย are able toย meet strict deadlines while prioritizing case loadsย 
  • Strong computer literacy with the ability to adapt to state-of-the-artย Envoy case processing software toย monitorย and record all visa petitionsย ย 
  • Excellent understanding and experience with the application of legal ethical principlesย
