Technical Sales Manager Prepreg & Advanced Composites

Location: Remote, United States; Midwest preferred, with convenient access to a major commercial airport.

Travel: Approximately 5070% throughout North America

Compensation: Target base salary of $110,000, commensurate with experience, plus performance-based variable compensation and a competitive, comprehensive benefits package

About the Role

A well-established German manufacturer of prepregs, advanced composites, and high-performance engineered materials is expanding its North American business and is seeking a Technical Sales Manager Prepreg & Advanced Composites. This role is ideal for someone who already understands prepreg materials, thermoset composites, and composite processing and has meaningful customer-facing experience.

You may currently work in Technical Sales, Sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, Account Management, Territory Sales, or Business Development. We are also interested in candidates from Applications Engineering, Technical Service, or Application Development who already work directly with customers and have begun supporting commercial opportunities.

You will work with OEMs, composite fabricators, distributors, and internal technical teams to understand customer requirements, support material evaluation and qualification, and help develop applications and commercial opportunities. Target markets include industrial automation, commercial and specialty vehicles, medical technology, marine, wind energy, and other selected advanced-composite applications.

The company's advanced composites portfolio includes thermoset prepregs and UD prepregs based on glass, carbon, aramid, basalt, and other reinforcement systems, as well as laminates, reinforced materials, composite components, and other specialized material solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop customer, application, and growth opportunities for prepreg and advanced composite materials across North America.
  • Build relationships with OEMs, composite fabricators, processors, distributors, and technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Work with customers to understand material, processing, performance, and application requirements.
  • Support material evaluation, sampling, testing, qualification, specification, and commercialization activities.
  • Contribute to building and advancing a qualified pipeline of customer and application opportunities.
  • Support technical presentations, proposals, quotations, pricing discussions, and commercial negotiations.

Coordinate customer projects with engineering, product management, manufacturing, and commercial teams.

Represent the company at relevant customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows.

What You Bring:

  • Direct and meaningful professional experience with prepreg materials is required.
  • Strong technical understanding of thermoset prepregs and structural composite materials.
  • Familiarity with relevant prepreg and composite concepts such as:
  • Carbon fiber and glass fiber reinforced materials
  • CFRP and GFRP
  • Unidirectional and/or fabric-reinforced prepreg systems
  • Thermoset resin systems
  • Composite material processing
  • Curing and manufacturing processes
  • Material testing and qualification
  • Structural composite applications
  • Meaningful experience working directly with customers in a technical or commercial environment.
  • Experience working for or with prepreg manufacturers, advanced composite material suppliers, composite fabricators, OEMs, material processors, or technical distributors is particularly valuable.
