Peraton is seeking a Cyber Architect - SME to support secure technical modernization efforts in Alaska. This role will provide senior-level cybersecurity architecture support, ensuring systems and solutions are designed and integrated in a manner that protects confidentiality, integrity, availability, and operational resilience.

This position is based in Anchorage Alaska.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and guide cybersecurity architecture approaches for supported systems and environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and program teams to ensure security requirements are incorporated into design and implementation.
  • Evaluate technical solutions for alignment with applicable security standards, risk posture, and operational needs.
  • Support system boundary definition, architecture documentation, and technical risk evaluation.
  • Identify cybersecurity gaps, vulnerabilities, or design concerns and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support security-related reviews, technical discussions, and customer engagements.
  • Prepare architecture documentation, recommendations, and technical briefings.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to support occasional travel to field sites and remote locations, as required.
  • Ability to work in austere environments and Arctic conditions, including remote site access and limited-amenity accommodations, when needed.
  • Willingness to comply with applicable site safety, badging, and operational requirements.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • US. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience consistent with labor category requirements.
    • 10 years with Masters, or 7 years with PHD
  • Extensive experience in cybersecurity architecture, security engineering, or related technical security disciplines.
  • Experience evaluating system designs for security compliance and risk.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, architecture practices, and secure systems integration.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal or FAA cybersecurity efforts.
  • Familiarity with NIST-based security frameworks and risk management concepts.
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed or remote operational environments.

Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
