Job description

The Cybersecurity Analyst will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of cybersecurity services in alignment with the Cityโ€™s requirements. This role will focus on strengthening the Cityโ€™s security posture through framework adoption, vulnerability management, awareness training, and threat monitoring.

Responsibilities:

  • Key responsibilities include designing and implementing cybersecurity frameworks and controls aligned with NIST, CIS, and NERC CIP standards where applicable. The analyst will perform vulnerability scanning and penetration testing support, provide detailed reporting, and assist with the development and execution of incident response readiness assessments to ensure the City is prepared for security events.
  • The Cybersecurity Analyst will also deliver security awareness training programs to reduce human-factor risks, enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA) across City systems, and provide SOC support for threat monitoring, event analysis, and escalation. Responsibilities further include collaborating with City stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry requirements, producing audit-ready documentation, and maintaining detailed logs and reports to support regulatory or internal security reviews.
  • By combining technical expertise with strong communication skills, the Cybersecurity Analyst will ensure the City has proactive defenses, effective response plans, and trained personnel to sustain a resilient security environment.
