Remote Experiential Learning information

What is remote experiential learning?

Remote experiential learning refers to educational or training experiences that allow participants to learn by doing, but in a virtual or online environment. This typically involves interactive activities, simulations, projects, or real-world problem-solving facilitated through digital platforms. The approach aims to provide hands-on, practical learning opportunities similar to in-person experiential programs, but with the flexibility and accessibility of remote participation. It is commonly used in education, professional development, and corporate training to engage learners and build real-world skills.

How does a remote experiential learning professional typically collaborate with educators and learners to create engaging virtual experiences?

Remote Experiential Learning professionals frequently work closely with teachers, instructional designers, and students to develop interactive online activities, simulations, or projects. They utilize digital tools and platforms to facilitate hands-on learning despite the physical distance, ensuring participants remain engaged and achieve learning objectives. Regular communication, feedback sessions, and collaborative planning are key aspects of the role, as is adapting content to suit diverse learning environments and needs. This role often requires creative problem-solving to overcome challenges unique to virtual settings, such as fostering participation and measuring engagement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote experiential learning roles, and why are they important?

Success in Remote Experiential Learning roles requires a strong background in instructional design, digital pedagogy, and experience facilitating virtual learning environments, typically supported by a degree in education or a related field. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), collaboration platforms (like Zoom or Microsoft Teams), and digital content creation tools is often necessary. Excellent communication, adaptability, and the ability to engage and motivate learners remotely set top candidates apart. These skills ensure effective and interactive learning experiences, bridging the gap between physical and virtual education.

This full-time remote position allows therapists to provide essential support to families and children facing developmental challenges. Our ideal candidates will be able to navigate therapeutic techniques in various settings, particularly via in-home and group sessions focused on empowering families and assisting children in overcoming behavioral hurdles.

About the Organization

At StrongMynd Plus Support, Inc., we specialize in Comprehensive Youth and Family Support Services aimed at children and adolescents with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to facilitate a positive developmental journey for each child while supporting their caregivers through effective therapy and guidance. Located in Westminster, Colorado, we serve diverse communities across the state, ensuring that families have access to quality mental health resources that enable them to thrive.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to manage your schedule while working closely with families and children in the community. While much of the therapy is conducted in-home, collaboration with a multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team involves sharing insights and treatment plans, ensuring comprehensive care for each child and family. Regular virtual team meetings foster connection and support among colleagues and promote professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individualized in-home therapy sessions and group sessions focusing on anger management, coping strategies, and social skills to reduce high-risk behaviors.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices tailored to each client to improve experiential learning and decision-making skills within both children and their caregivers.
  • Engage in regular communication and collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team and other relevant professionals to coordinate treatment and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ensure timely submission of required documentation, including intake evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes, to maintain compliance with clinic standards.
  • Continually participate in case discussions and contribute innovative ideas to enhance client treatment and support.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The therapists at StrongMynd Plus Support, Inc. primarily work with a diverse range of children aged 3-20, whom may experience a variety of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our clients often face challenges such as behavioral issues, social integration difficulties, and emotional distress. The therapy provided by our Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists is crucial in helping these children develop coping mechanisms and social skills necessary for their integration into society.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
  • An active, unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is a must.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4–7 PM) is preferred.
  • A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license are necessary for conducting home visits.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprints.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience employing positive behavior support techniques with children.
  • Experience working directly with children and teens who have intellectual or developmental impairments.
  • Bilingual candidates, especially those fluent in Spanish or Portuguese, are encouraged to apply as they will enhance our services for diverse families.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $105,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, our benefits package includes:

  • A dynamic and engaging work environment.
  • Generous annual paid vacation.
  • Short-term and long-term disability benefits.
  • Retirement plan options including a 401(k).
  • Comprehensive on-the-job training and professional development opportunities.
Career Growth Opportunities

At StrongMynd Plus Support, Inc., we believe in fostering the professional growth of our team members. Employees are encouraged to pursue ongoing education and specialized training relevant to their practice, which can lead to advancement into leadership roles or further specialization in therapeutic modalities.
