This position may be work from home within the US or work from one of our Schaefer offices.
At Schaefer, we're collaborative, hard-working, innovative and passionate in the office and in our communities. We're looking for a creative individual to join our fast-paced entertainment team to work on national projects.
This team designs a variety of structures that are temporary (concert stage roofs, mobile roofs, scaffold structures, outdoor event structures, aluminum truss structures) and permanent (theater rigging design, theme park structures, venue certification, bleacher design + inspection, entertainment venues)
Our engineers crave knowledge and cultivate new skills designing diverse structures. We hire individuals that bring their best every day.
Scope of Work
  • Design and detail efficient structures that are code compliant, accurate and of high quality
  • Act as the Project Manager or Project Engineer on multiple projects that vary in size and complexity, with a focus on live events, theming, and other entertainment projects
  • Develop strong client relationships and engage in business development practices to leverage those partnerships for ongoing project work
  • Manage project cost through effective planning and prioritization

Qualifications
  • 6+ years of structural engineering experience, demonstrating growth in project management experience; theme park and live event project experience is preferred
  • BS in engineering, MS preferred
  • BIM (Revit) experience a plus
  • Proven ability to manage successful project teams
  • Strong client relationship experience and the ability to manage complex projects
  • PE or SE license
  • Ability to travel for site visits
