What is a Remote Epic Go Live?

Remote Epic Go Live jobs involve providing virtual support and guidance during the implementation of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system at healthcare organizations. Professionals in these roles assist clinical and administrative staff with using the new system, troubleshooting issues, and answering questions, all while working remotely. This support is crucial during the initial rollout phase, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to patient care. Typical positions include Epic credentialed trainers, support analysts, and project coordinators.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Epic Go Live specialist?

To thrive as a Remote Epic Go Live Specialist, you need in-depth knowledge of the Epic EHR system, clinical workflow understanding, and often an Epic certification. Familiarity with remote support tools, ticketing systems, and specific Epic modules like EpicCare or Ambulatory is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide calm, clear guidance under pressure are crucial soft skills. These competencies ensure smooth system adoption, minimize disruption to clinical operations, and support end-users during critical transition periods.

To address these, it’s important to establish clear channels for real-time collaboration (like chat tools and daily standups), maintain detailed documentation, and proactively test remote access and support tools prior to Go Live. Building strong relationships with both clinical and IT staff also helps facilitate smoother troubleshooting and a more successful implementation.
