Base Commensurate with Experience + Performance Bonus + Full Benefits

About Summit EPC

Summit EPC is a privately held design-build firm delivering complex facilities across North America. We integrate architecture, engineering, preconstruction, and construction management to drive faster decisions, cost clarity, and stronger outcomes.

We offer the scale of major projects without the bureaucracy. Our leaders move quickly and have direct access to decision makers.

About the Opportunity

Summit EPC is seeking a Principal Architect to lead design strategy, client visioning, and project development within a true integrated design-build environment.

This role is built for a senior architect from a traditional A&E background who wants greater influence, tighter collaboration with builders, and direct impact on execution.

At Summit EPC, design is not separated from construction. You will partner daily with preconstruction and operations to align design, budget, and schedule from day one.

Why This Role is Different

  • Lead design with real-time construction feedback
  • Influence outcomes from concept through occupancy
  • Work directly with owners and decision makers
  • Solve faster through integrated collaboration
  • Shape standards, culture, and growth
  • Experience a true design-build model
  • High trust, sustainable pace

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design for complex building projects
  • Guide programming, planning, and client vision
  • Translate business goals into design direction
  • Own architectural quality and technical execution
  • Direct multidisciplinary coordination
  • Partner on budget, scope, and value strategy
  • Ensure constructability and execution readiness
  • Mentor design staff
  • Support client development and pursuits

Ideal Background

  • Senior architect or studio leader from an A&E firm seeking broader ownership
  • Architectural leader within a GC or design-build firm seeking greater design influence
  • Experience across commercial, institutional, healthcare, retail, civic, or specialty sectors
  • Strong technical architect seeking closer connection to construction or deeper design leadership within it
  • Thrives in collaborative, client-facing environments

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of architectural experience with leadership progression
  • Experience from programming through construction
  • Strong consultant and systems coordination
  • Ability to balance design, budget, and schedule
  • Ground-up or complex renovation experience
  • Architecture degree
  • Licensure preferred

Career Impact

This role expands your influence beyond design into how projects are defined, priced, and built. You will work alongside construction leaders who value design as a driver of outcomes.

If you want a faster, more collaborative model where your decisions shape real-world results, we should talk.
