Job description

Primary Purpose: Position is required to design, implement, document, and maintain Client Side Car-Part software. Investigates and resolves problems found during internal QA as well as escalated customer problems. Creates software packages for each IMS system to be distributed to existing customers and utilized for converting new customers. Creates project documentation.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

1) Assist in the design of new product features.

2) Implement high quality product features through proper planning and accurate resource estimates.

3) Maintain existing functionality

4) Investigate and fix software defects in a timely manner

5) Provide documentation including design documents and user documentation.

6) Interface with support and customers to resolve issues in timely manner

7) Manage source and build procedures

8) Contribute to the team meetings. Openly share knowledge with team members.

9) Provide timesheets and regular status to management.

10) Provide internal training

11) Contribute and adhere to Product Release timelines and goals

12) Create and update problem reports utilizing the proper bug tracking tool.

13) Research new technology and techniques

14) Stay current with inventory system changes and new features

15) Research and remain current on industry changes especially new inventory system areas

16) Perform such other duties, and have such other responsibilities, as are assigned by Car-Part.com from time to time

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications Required: BS in Computer Science or related experience

  • Delphi VCL and extensive 3rd party controls
  • Comfortable working within large, mature codebases (3M+ lines)
  • Experience navigating and maintaining large-scale legacy systems.
  • Demonstrated experience working on enterprise-scale applications (millions of lines of code) where understanding existing architecture matters more than writing from scratch.
  • General SQL knowledge of building queries and general knowledge of table designs.
