The Work: ICF is looking for an enthusiastic Senior ServiceNow Platform Engineer/Developer to play a pivotal role in successfully leading the Platform support, as well as ongoing development and deployment of ServiceNow solutions for our clients. In this role, you will lead the design, configuration, customization, and implementation of ServiceNow applications to meet specific business requirements. Your technical expertise and leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence will contribute significantly to the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients.
An active or prior Secret clearance is required for this position. This position requires DoS Public Trust.
Job Location: This position requires that the job be performed in the United States. If you accept this position, you should note that ICF does monitor employee work locations and blocks access from foreign locations/foreign IP addresses and prohibits personal VPN connections.
  • You may be asked to travel once a quarter to an office.
  • Our core work hours are 10am - 4pm Eastern Time with the option to start earlier or work later depending on your time zone.

What You Will Do:
  • Change Management: Support change management efforts by assisting developers, architects, clients, and users during the Release Management periods, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Integration Management: Assist architects in the design and integration of ServiceNow with other systems and applications to create seamless end-to-end processes.
  • System Optimization: Collaborate with architects to analyze platform performance, design optimization strategies, and implement performance and security improvement configurations, contributing to the overall stability, efficiency, and security of ServiceNow solutions. This includes the ability to oversee and participate in Clone Downs, Instance Upgrades, MID Server Support, Multi-factor Authentication Support, and Annual Authority to Operate (ATO) reviews.
  • Best Practices: Contribute to the development of ICF's best practices and standards. Adhere to security and implementation best practices and ensure that implemented solutions meet relevant compliance requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, other implementation specialists, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project coordination and effective, regular communication, including risks, issues, successes, and overall project status.
  • Technical Implementation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead the implementation of ServiceNow solutions that align with the designed requirements and ensure solutions meet industry's best practices. Develop and maintain advanced scripts, business rules, and client scripts.
  • Technical Documentation: Validate the completeness of the team's documentation of configurations, customizations, data schemas, and other technical decisions.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough peer testing of ServiceNow configurations to validate functionality, data integrity, and user experience. Work with other Developers and Quality Assurance Engineers to address any issues and make necessary adjustments to ensure the solution meets the desired outcomes.
  • Client and End-User Training: Support client and end-user training to ensure a smooth adoption of the implemented solution.
  • Incident and Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to ServiceNow implementations. Collaborate with support teams to provide timely resolution to incidents and problems.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest ServiceNow features, enhancements, and best practices to enhance the quality of implementations and maintain expertise in the platform. Continue certification and training process to meet Practice standards and growth areas and contribute to the continued success of the team.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to Associate ServiceNow Developers and ServiceNow Developers. Support the growth of other Practice members to meet the needs of their role, the business, and future growth opportunities. Share solutions and lessons learned with ICF's ServiceNow Practice.
  • Corporate Growth: Support the development of client roadmaps and solution demonstrations to identify and foster new opportunities for ICF services and ServiceNow license sales. Although not required, it is encouraged to support proposals ("bids") for new opportunities, including oral presentations and written technical proposals.

What You Will Bring With You:
  • 5 or more years of IT Development
  • 3 or more years of experience implementing ServiceNow solutions.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and Certified Application Developer
  • 1+ years of experience with Clone Downs and Upgrades
  • US Citizenship is required (required by the federal government for this position)
  • Must be able to obtain a DoS Public Trust clearance.
  • Must have a Secret Clearance or above
  • MUST RESIDE IN THE United States (U.S.) and the work MUST BE PERFORMED in the United States (U.S.), as this work is for a federal contract and laws do apply.

  • Demonstrated ability to write and maintain high-quality code independently, without reliance on AI assistance when required
  • In-depth knowledge of scripting languages, including JavaScript and ServiceNow Server-side and Client-side scripting
  • Comprehensive understanding of ServiceNow platform capabilities, core modules, and industry best practices
  • Strong expertise in ServiceNow platform management, including MID Servers, integrations, multi-factor authentication, and Zero Trust security principles
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes and IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks
  • Advanced technical skills in workflow configuration, business rule development, and platform automation
