We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist with LCSW, LMFT, or LPC credentials to join our team at Freedom and Wellness Counseling, Inc. This full-time role allows for remote work while primarily serving clients in Gresham, Oregon, through our community health clinic. You will play a vital part in addressing the mental health needs of our community, particularly those who are medically underserved and seeking support for their mental well-being.

About the Organization

Freedom and Wellness Counseling, Inc. is committed to providing high-quality mental health services to individuals and families within our community. We focus on empowering clients with the tools they need to achieve emotional wellness. Our team approaches each client with sensitivity to social determinants of health and strives to enhance access to care for everyone, especially maternal clients and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing you to provide services from the comfort of your home while maintaining a flexible work-life balance. You will work collaboratively with a team of mental health professionals who are equally passionate about community health and social justice. Our clinic culture is supportive and geared towards collective growth, professional development, and a shared commitment to improving the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for new clients, determining their treatment needs and formulating appropriate diagnoses using the DSM-5 criteria.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy, utilizing evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy and other therapeutic modalities tailored to client needs.
  • Respond promptly to crisis situations, evaluating the urgency of patient needs, and coordinating necessary interventions to ensure safety and access to appropriate care.

  • Offer training and educational sessions to team members and community stakeholders on relevant clinical topics, fostering an environment of ongoing learning.
  • Oversee and mentor Mental Health Workers and therapy assistants while ensuring adherence to best practices in care delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with maternal clients and other individuals from diverse backgrounds facing challenges with mental health and well-being. Your expertise will support clients coping with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, aiming to provide holistic treatment approaches that meet their unique needs. Understanding the barriers faced by medically underserved populations will be crucial in effectively addressing their health determinants.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, or Clinical Social Work (e.g., MA, MS, MSW, MFT, MHC, PhD, PsyD) from an accredited institution.
  • An independent state license to practice as a clinical social worker (LCSW), marriage and family therapist (LMFT), or professional counselor (LPC) in Oregon.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of electronic medical records (EMR), email communication, and standard office software applications to effectively manage client documentation and correspondence.
Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated expertise and passion for mental health care, with a focus on impacts to clients’ lives and future well-being.
  • Experience with evidenced-based practices and therapeutic approaches that cater to diverse clientele needs.
  • Prior experience working in a community health setting or with medically underserved populations strongly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 50,000 to 70,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Life and disability insurance to support your well-being.
  • Professional liability insurance to protect your practice.
  • An employee assistance program providing mental health support for personal and professional situations.
  • Minimal paperwork, allowing you to focus more on providing care.
  • A full caseload promising a busy yet fulfilling work schedule.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Freedom and Wellness Counseling, Inc., we value professional development and continuous learning. We encourage our therapists to pursue advanced training and specialization in areas related to their interests and client needs. Opportunities for mentorship, leadership roles, and participation in community initiatives will aid in fostering your growth within the organization.
