Job description

Job Title: Senior Component Design Engineer (RPA) โ€“ Contract Type: Contract Compensation: $56.00 - $95.00 per hour Contractor Work Model: Remote โ€“ offsite Responsibilities

  • Design solutions for reactor structures and components, including the rotatable plug assembly equipment, from requirements through final design
  • Coordinate inputs and requirements from Engineering and Project teams to develop equipment and component design solutions
  • Perform scoping analysis and calculations for various design options
  • Interface with engineering analysis activities and present design results for reviews
  • Assess the technical merit of solutions and lead design reviews
  • Collaborate with equipment suppliers to resolve design and fabrication issues
  • Apply nuclear industry best practices to maintain high-quality engineering design and suggest process improvements
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (minimum of eight years of equipment/component design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience)
  • Extensive experience with equipment and component design, including familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III
  • Experience writing detailed design specifications
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • Proficiency in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis, and tools like ANSYS
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking abilities
  • Ability to independently solve challenging problems and work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Familiarity with CAD software, SolidWorks preferred
  • High level of trust, integrity, and teamwork orientation
  • Preferred skills include experience with slewing ring bearings and elastomeric seals
