Job description

We're looking for an early-to-mid career Content Designer to join our Personalization team. You'll help design personalized experiences that help people discover ideas they'll love, while preserving the moments of serendipity that makes Pinterest unique. As a Content Designer II, you'll work on surfaces like Homefeed to help users understand, navigate, and trust experiences that adapt to their interests, behaviors, and needs.

Content Designers at Pinterest are advocates for the user experience. We use language, information hierarchy, and content strategy to shape product experiences. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful content designer who understands how content can influence the direction of an experience, transform complexity into clarity, and create meaningful experiences at scale.

What you'll do:

  • Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, Research, Data Science, and more to shape personalized experiences across Pinterest, including Homefeed and other discovery surfaces.
  • Apply content design, information design, and user-centered thinking to create and refine product experiences that help people discover ideas, understand recommendations, and engage with personalized experiences.
  • Leverage research, data, and user insights to inform content decisions and identify opportunities to improve the Pinterest experience.
  • Contribute to scalable content frameworks, patterns, and standards that help create clear, consistent, and trustworthy personalized experiences.
  • Help create transparent, user-centered experiences by using language to explain why people are seeing content and how they can shape their experience.
  • Explore and apply emerging AI tools and prompting approaches across the content design process (from discovery and concepting through evaluation and iteration) to improve decision quality, craft, and efficiency while applying strong content design judgment and user-centered thinking.
  • Contribute to the broader Content Design practice by sharing learnings, evolving team best practices, and strengthening how we approach personalization at Pinterest.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in user-focused product content design, ideally with experience designing complex, data-informed, or personalized experiences.
  • A Content Designer who goes beyond the string to help shape the content approach for a feature or experience.
  • A collaborative partner who works effectively with cross-functional teams and brings a content design perspective grounded in user needs, clarity, and design principles.
  • A portfolio demonstrating experience solving product problems through language, content strategy, and collaboration.
  • A learner and builder mindset, with curiosity and willingness to explore emerging AI capabilities and apply them appropriately to content design workflows and product experiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in design, a related field or equivalent experience.

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We recognize that the ideal environment for work is situational and may differ across departments. What this looks like day-to-day can vary based on the needs of each organization or role.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times every 6-months, and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.

Relocation Statement:

  • This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Visit our PinFlex page to learn more about our working model.
