Caring Companions Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote outpatient team. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and comprehensive assessments of clients’ mental health, utilizing clinical interviews and standardized tools to formulate accurate diagnoses.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based therapeutic modalities, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure effectiveness and responsiveness to clients' evolving needs.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions, employing a range of therapeutic techniques to address various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.
  • Provide crisis intervention, including immediate support and stabilization for clients experiencing acute mental health crises, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and legal regulations regarding documentation and privacy.
  • Collaborate actively with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and social workers, to deliver comprehensive care and ensure a holistic approach to clients’ mental health.
  • Engage in community outreach and education efforts, raising awareness about mental health issues and available resources while advocating for clients’ needs and rights.
  • Stay informed of the latest developments in mental health therapy through ongoing training, workshops, and professional development initiatives.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse range of clients who may be dealing with various mental health challenges. This includes adults, adolescents, couples facing relational difficulties, and families seeking to strengthen their dynamics. Your role will be pivotal in providing culturally competent care and addressing the unique backgrounds and experiences of each client.

Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid license as a Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, LCSW-R) in New York State.
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a mental health counseling role, with a proven track record of success in client outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Experience
