As a remote organization, we promote a flexible work environment that allows mental health professionals to manage their time effectively while providing care to elderly patients. You will engage with clients via virtual platforms, ensuring that they have access to the necessary therapeutic resources from the comfort of their homes or preferred environments. The standard working hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility for occasional evening shifts based on patient needs.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the unique challenges faced by older adults, including cognitive, emotional, and physical considerations.
• Craft and execute individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based approaches and accommodate the comprehensive needs of each patient.
• Deliver individual and family therapy, utilizing techniques that resonate with the geriatric demographic, including behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic methods.
• Work collaboratively with geriatric psychiatrists, medical professionals, and support staff to provide holistic and cohesive care, ensuring that all aspects of patient health are addressed.
• Provide crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, demonstrating an ability to manage acute situations effectively, with a focus on safety and immediate resolution.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources, fostering a collaborative approach to care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of patient care, adhering to all legal and ethical standards to protect patient information.
• Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development sessions to continuously enhance your clinical skills and stay informed about the latest in geriatric mental health.

This role specifically targets the geriatric population, addressing conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties. Our therapists play a pivotal role in helping elderly individuals navigate mental health challenges, ultimately aiming to improve their emotional resilience and ability to cope with life's transitions.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• A current and valid license (LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW) to practice in the state of Illinois.
• Proven ability to connect with and understand the mental health needs of older adults.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for the establishment of rapport and trust with patients and their families.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technologies, ensuring streamlined documentation and communication.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, particularly with older adults.
• Demonstrated knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and effective treatment modalities.
• Experience delivering therapy in both individual and family settings with elderly clients.
