UW Medicine-Montlake- Food and Nutrition has 2 outstanding opportunities for Barista's.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
  • Evening shift
  • Monday thru Friday between the hours of 2:30pm-11:30pm

The Nutrition and Food Services department supports UWMC's mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care, unforgettable customer service, and fresh and nutritious food for patients, families, and the greater community.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Independently operate a remote food service area / espresso bar
  • Performs routine work in preparing and serving espresso beverages and food items and cleaning activities
  • Performs a variety of duties in the preparation and service of espresso beverages and food items

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides excellent, respectful customer service to a diverse customer base, in a medical setting.
  • Train new or unskilled employees in the preparation and service of espresso beverages and food items; cleaning and stocking duties and departmental procedures.
  • Operate all espresso and/or food service equipment and machinery.
  • Prepare and serve food items. Stock supplies necessary for preparation and service of beverages and food items. Display food and espresso items in attractive manner.
  • Operate cash register. Handle cash, check and charge payments for beverage and food items in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment AND one year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
