Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach, support, recruit, and develop regional managers, so they have clear expectations, practical resources, and consistent support.
  • Build trusted relationships with county presidents, county boards, member leaders, volunteers, and internal teams.
  • Develop a staffing structure that supports the recruitment of members to be active participants at county, state, and national levels, while providing opportunities for members to grow and develop leadership skills within the organization.
  • Understand the issues impacting farmers, agriculture stakeholders, and rural communities.
  • Build a strategy for strong relationships with a broad array of members beyond current leadership, particularly uninvolved and new members.
  • Support the creation of resources or initiatives that help counties use INFB resources in ways that support local goals, respect county decision-making, and reduce volunteer burden.
  • Create momentum through influence, credibility, shared purpose, and demonstrated value to recruit and engage voting members.
  • Strengthen county leadership development, succession planning, volunteer engagement, member engagement, and local issue work.
  • Listen for recurring challenges and opportunities across counties and create practical improvements to programs, tools, training, communication, and support systems.
  • Serve as a connector between field operations, membership, communications, advocacy, and other statewide teams to ensure local needs are understood and supported. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, organizational leadership, communications, nonprofit management, public affairs, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience coaching, supervising, training, or supporting staff, volunteers, local boards, or member-led organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence outcomes in environments where authority is shared, indirect, or volunteer-led.
  • Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate across teams, and translate strategy into practical tools and action plans.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly and support occasional evening or weekend meetings, trainings, and events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of agriculture, rural communities, grassroots advocacy, membership organizations, and county Farm Bureau operations.
  • Experience working with autonomous local organizations, volunteer boards, county leaders, or community-based leadership structures.
  • Experience developing leadership training, member engagement strategies, onboarding resources, or volunteer support tools.
  • Ability to analyze feedback from members, county leaders, and staff and convert common themes into practical recommendations.
  • Credibility with agricultural audiences and an understanding of the time, capacity, and succession challenges facing volunteer-led organizations.

  • Ability to present, communicate, and traverse both office and agricultural environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and travel (by car or air) as needed to conduct business
  • Ability to move about various locations, including hotel meeting facilities, convention centers, and farms
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate a computer and standard office equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
