Position Summary:
The Director, Partner Distribution is responsible for leading the performance, growth, and execution of Coterie's partner distribution organization across high-potential and developing partner accounts. This leader will oversee Partner Account Executives and Partner Development Managers while driving strategic initiatives that increase partner production, activation, engagement, and profitable growth.
This role is responsible for establishing scalable frameworks for partner growth, account segmentation, performance management, and partner engagement strategies across traditional distribution channels.
The Director, Partner Distribution will collaborate closely with Insurance, Product, Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Partner Success teams to improve partner outcomes, strengthen relationships, and scale Coterie's distribution footprint.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Partner Account Executives and Partner Development Managers.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies across strategic, emerging, and developing partner segments.
  • Drive partner production growth, activation, and engagement across assigned distribution channels.
  • Establish performance expectations, accountability frameworks, and operating cadences for the distribution team.
  • Monitor partner performance metrics including premium growth, submission activity, activation, engagement, and retention. • Collaborate with Revenue Operations to support forecasting, account segmentation, territory alignment, and reporting.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, Insurance, and Revenue Operations teams to support partner growth initiatives and enablement strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve partner lifecycle management and distribution scalability.
  • Support strategic partner initiatives and executive relationship management activities.
  • Develop processes and programs that improve partner activation, expansion, and long-term growth.
  • Represent Coterie at industry conferences, partner events, and distribution forums as needed.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and proactive relationship management.

Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Insurance, Marketing, or related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience in insurance distribution, partner management, sales leadership, or agency development.
  • Proven success leading revenue-generating teams and driving partner growth initiatives.
  • Experience managing agency, broker, embedded, or hybrid distribution relationships preferred.
  • Experience developing scalable distribution and engagement strategies.

Our interview process:
Our hiring process generally consists of 3 phases. The goal is to provide an opportunity for us to learn more about our candidates while allowing them to get to know us as well!
  • Phase 1: Qualified candidates will first meet with a member of our People Operations team for a phone interview. This discussion is a high-level conversation to understand more about your background and interests and for us to share more about Coterie and the position.
  • Phase 2: Selected candidates will be invited to meet with our Hiring Manager for a 2nd interview via Teams video. This interview is designed to be more detail oriented and allows you to learn more about the role
  • Phase 3: Top candidates will receive an invite for our final interview series via Teams video. This series will include an experiential exercise project (provided in advance), 1:1 interviews with selected team members. The final series is roughly 1.5-3 hours in total but can be scheduled over a few days for flexibility.

  • Annual salary estimated between 130,000-180,000 + Variable Compensation. Candidates who meet all the minimum requirements and possess additional relevant experience, as outlined in the job description, may be considered for a salary above the midpoint of the above range. Salary is based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market data/ranges; applicant's skills; prior relevant experience; degrees or certifications, etc.
