Job description

About Paubox
Our mission is to become the market leader for HIPAA compliant email security.
We are driven by the Paubox Foundations, which are core principles we care intensely about. They lay the groundwork for building a company of long-lasting and exceptional value.
The Paubox Foundations:
  • Customer feedback. We use customer feedback as our roadmap of what to build and when to build it.
  • Big ideas matter. We know customers want security, reliability, and ease of use. These are big ideas that will not change over time.
  • GSD. We don't just talk about getting the job done; we get the job done.
  • We do the homework. In a fast-paced environment, we do our homework before we embark. We don't skip the hard work or ignore the details.
  • Honesty and trust. Honesty builds trust with our customers and our team. We know that honesty is essential to thriving at Paubox.
  • Clear communication. We thrive when there is clear, consistent communication with customers and with each other.
  • Data-driven. Business decisions are driven by data, not emotion.
  • We are leaders, not followers. We provide leadership in our industry, to our customers, and in our communities.

As only the paranoid survive, we know that to ensure future success, we must become an AI-native company. In other words, we are growing while keeping headcount relatively flat without pursuing AI to replace people.
About the role
Are you a deeply technical engineer who loves the thrill of the deal, or a distribution mastermind who can speak fluent API? We are looking for our first Director of Distribution to architect, scale, and manage our technical distribution ecosystem while driving our evolution as an AI-native organization. In this strategic-level hybrid role, you will sit at the intersection of marketing, engineering, and sales, designing the technical frameworks that allow our channel partners, resellers, and integrators to distribute Paubox with zero friction. You won't just manage relationships; you will build the technical bridges and developer pathways that unlock distribution for our HIPAA-compliant security tools. This is a high-impact, fast-paced opportunity for a strategic leader eager to combine technical Go-To-Market strategy with cutting-edge AI utilization and hands-on distribution execution.
Your day-to-day
  • Define and execute the US-based distribution strategy, focusing on scaling indirect revenue through technical alliances, VARs, MSPs, and strategic SaaS integrations.
  • Integrate AI workflows and automated tools into the distribution lifecycle to optimize partner communication, streamline deal registration, and accelerate partner onboarding.
  • Lead the GTM Engineering initiatives by designing technical onboarding blueprints, custom API integrations, and developer tools for Tier-1 distribution partners.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between Paubox's core engineering team and external partner development teams to ensure seamless product delivery.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing to build technical enablement content, documentation, and sandboxes that accelerate partner time-to-market.
  • Monitor partner ecosystem performance metrics, leveraging data to optimize distribution pipelines and uncover new integration opportunities.
  • Drive the evolution of our partner portal and technical distribution infrastructure to ensure self-service scalability.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience blending technical sales engineering, GTM strategy, and channel distribution.
  • Strong software engineering foundations, with the ability to confidently speak on cloud architecture, APIs, email routing, and security integrations.
  • Track record of building and scaling B2B SaaS distribution networks, MSP programs, or strategic partner ecosystems.
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern AI tools, LLMs, or machine learning applications to scale operational output and automate business processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a knack for translating complex technical features into clear business value for executive stakeholders.
  • A proactive, results-oriented mindset capable of navigating ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments.

It would be great if you also have
  • Experience in the healthcare IT, cybersecurity, or HIPAA-compliance sectors.
  • Background building developer-first or API-driven partner ecosystems.
  • Experience embedding AI utilities directly into partner enablement workflows or customer portals.

What you'll get from us
  • A fully-remote work environment, no RTO here!
  • Cigna or Kaiser Permanente healthcare coverage (location dependent)
  • Dental and vision insurance through Principal
  • 401(k) retirement account
  • Sick and vacation time totaling 28 days per year
  • 8 paid annual holidays
  • Stock option grants
  • Company-provided MacBook
  • $500 quarterly stipend for professional development

  • Base salary for this role is $175,000 annually
  • Uncapped commission structure
  • Expected annual OTE $250,000
