Overview
The Director, Product Sales Executives, provides hands-on leadership for a team of subject matter experts while shaping the long-term vision for this new function. This role combines direct management of Product Sales Executives (PSEs) with strategic responsibility for building and scaling the team over time. The Director will define the function's strategy, establish processes, and eventually hire and develop managers to support growth. In the near term, this role focuses on coaching and developing PSEs, aligning their efforts with sales strategy, and ensuring consistent execution of product positioning, demos, and field enablement. Acting as a critical bridge between Sales and Product, the Director ensures the voice of the customer informs roadmap decisions and equips the sales organization to sell with confidence and precision.
Responsibilities
Immediate Leadership
  • Leads, coaches, and develops a team of Product Sales Executives focused on driving product-specific revenue and supporting strategic sales initiatives.
  • Conducts regular performance reviews, skill assessments, and career development planning.
  • Fosters a culture of product expertise, storytelling, and customer-centric selling.
  • Oversees the delivery of compelling product demos, presentations, and technical deep dives across sales cycles.
  • Partners with Sales leadership to align PSE efforts with overall sales strategy and revenue goals.
  • Acts as a senior resource for complex opportunities, guiding product strategy and competitive positioning.
  • Monitors team performance against KPIs such as influenced revenue, demo effectiveness, and enablement impact. Strategic Build-Out
  • Defines the vision and long-term strategy for the Product Sales Executives function, including organizational structure and growth roadmap.
  • Establishes scalable processes, playbooks, and enablement programs to support expansion.
  • Collaborates with Product and Marketing leadership to influence roadmap priorities and go-to-market strategies.
  • Shapes the evolution of the Product Sales Executives function, identifying opportunities to scale, specialize, or optimize.
  • Represents the function in executive planning sessions and contributes to Origami's broader sales strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serves as a critical bridge between Sales and Product, ensuring customer insights inform product development and positioning.
  • Collaborates with Product Marketing and Sales Enablement to develop training materials, competitive positioning, and launch plans.
  • Supports strategic account planning and participates in executive-level customer engagements as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 8-10+ years of experience in SaaS sales, pre-sales, or product-focused roles.
  • 3-5+ years of experience managing sales enablement or product specialist teams.
  • Proven ability to scale a team or function from inception.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop high-performing sales talent.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and engage diverse audiences.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Marketing.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and sales enablement platforms.
  • Insurance or risk management industry experience is a plus.
  • Up to 25% travel required.
