Content Manager - Secondary Content Strategy

Are you looking for an alternative legal career that blends legal expertise with strategy, data, and innovation?

Do you want to shape the future of legal content in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment that values flexibility and impact?

Do you want to work remotely in a supportive team and company that promotes work-life balance?

About the Team

LexisNexis is seeking an experienced legal professional to join our team as a Content Manager - Secondary Content Strategy (U.S.). In this role, you will help drive the strategy, development, and commercial success of our U.S. secondary content portfolio.

You will combine your understanding of legal practice with a strong customer-first and data-driven mindset to inform portfolio decisions, enhance content quality, and support AI-enabled legal research solutions. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our secondary content remains authoritative, competitive, and aligned with evolving customer needs.

About the Role

As a Content Manager, you will contribute to the strategic direction and performance of our secondary content portfolio as part of a cross-functional team that includes Product, Sales, Marketing, Editorial Operations, and global stakeholders.

You will serve as the voice of the customer, leveraging usage data, direct engagement, and market insights to shape content strategy and investment decisions. You will evaluate competitive dynamics, identify growth opportunities, and help ensure our content is optimized for both traditional research and emerging AI-driven applications.

This role requires strong collaboration, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate insights into actionable plans that improve both customer outcomes and business performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Market Analysis

    • Serve as the voice of the customer by analyzing usage data, participating in customer calls, and leading NPS follow-up efforts

    • Translate customer feedback and behavioral insights into actionable portfolio and product strategies

    • Monitor and assess the U.S. legal market and competitive landscape, including established publishers, legal tech platforms, startups, and alternative providers, to identify trends, risks, and opportunities

    • Conduct ongoing competitive and market analysis to inform portfolio priorities and investment decisions

    • Assess LexisNexis' competitive position by practice area and identify opportunities for growth, differentiation, and content expansion

    • Identify and evaluate licensing and acquisition opportunities

    • Collaborate with global colleagues (UK, Canada, and beyond) to share insights and unlock cross-border content and commercialization opportunities

  • Portfolio Leadership & Content Development

    • Help lead the strategic direction of the U.S. secondary content portfolio, ensuring it delivers authoritative, high-quality content aligned with customer needs and business goals

    • Ensure content supports AI applications (e.g., Protege grounding and answer quality), including coverage, authoritative sourcing, rights clearance, and robust metadata

    • Partner closely with Product teams to improve AI content retrieval, accuracy, and user experience

    • Develop and propose annual content development plans for proprietary titles

    • Review and evaluate author proposals for new titles and updates to existing content, ensuring alignment with portfolio strategy and market demand

    • Partner with Editorial Operations on Content Development plans for proprietary and licensed content, such as online placement, packaging, and pricing

  • Commercialization & Go-to-Market

    • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Editorial Operations to develop and execute go-to-market strategies

    • Lead key go-to-market activities, including content development updates, product launches, and sales training

    • Support conference participation, author engagement, and promotion of authoritative brands and titles

    • Ensure clear value positioning and messaging that differentiates our secondary content in a competitive market to drive adoption and customer preference

  • Operational Excellence & Financial Management

    • Ensure compliance with rights, licensing, and internal governance standards, including approval of sources for AI usage

    • Partner with Legal and Editorial teams on licensing terms and content use

    • Support financial performance by aligning portfolio decisions with revenue and profitability goals

    • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio

Requirements
