POSITION SUMMARY

CVS Health is seeking a Lead Director - Artificial Intelligence Solutions Engineering and Delivery to lead the development and delivery of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions that drive measurable business outcomes across the enterprise.

Within the Solutions Engineering and Infrastructure organization, this leader will be responsible for identifying high-value use cases, translating business needs into scalable solutions, and accelerating adoption of Artificial Intelligence capabilities. This role will partner with Product, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Observability, Data, and Business teams to establish delivery frameworks, engineering standards, and reusable implementation patterns that improve speed, quality, and consistency across solution delivery.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this leader will oversee teams responsible for solution engineering, technical product management, and deployment of production Artificial Intelligence capabilities while ensuring alignment to enterprise technology, security, governance, and operational standards.

This is a U.S.-based remote position. Candidates must reside within the United States.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of enterprise Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning products, from opportunity identification and solution design through proof of concept, production deployment, enterprise adoption, and value realization, while delivering measurable business outcomes aligned to strategic objectives.

  • Define and operationalize solution engineering, architecture, and delivery standards for AI-enabled products, establishing scalable, secure, resilient, and reusable implementation patterns aligned with enterprise technology standards, governance requirements, and engineering best practices.

  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Observability, Data, and Business leaders to identify high-value use cases, prioritize investments, define success metrics, and accelerate adoption of Artificial Intelligence capabilities across the enterprise.

  • Manage technology investments, strategic portfolios, budgets, vendor relationships, resource planning, and governance processes, providing executive visibility into delivery performance, business value, risks, dependencies, financial outcomes, and operational readiness.

  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams of Technical Product Managers, Solutions Engineers, and Forward Deployment Engineers while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, operational excellence, continuous learning, inclusion, and customer-focused delivery.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of experience developing enterprise software products and platforms utilizing Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and modern software engineering practices.

  • 10+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions within complex, highly regulated environments.

  • 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud-native solutions across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.

  • 7+ years of experience building, leading, and scaling product management, software engineering, or solutions engineering organizations responsible for enterprise technology delivery and transformation.

  • 5+ years of experience building and deploying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), GraphRAG, agentic architectures, observability, model monitoring, and production AI operational practices.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience delivering Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, analytics, or digital solutions within healthcare, payer, retail health, pharmacy, financial services, technology, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Experience translating business requirements into reusable AI products, platforms, and solution patterns that scale across multiple teams, business domains, and enterprise functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor to senior technology and business leaders, translating complex technical concepts, risks, tradeoffs, and opportunities into actionable recommendations and measurable business outcomes.

  • Experience managing strategic technology portfolios, investments, operating models, vendor relationships, financial accountability, and executive stakeholder engagement within large enterprise environments.

  • Strong executive communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with demonstrated thought leadership in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, cloud technologies, AI-assisted software delivery, modern engineering practices, and enterprise transformation.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience (High School Diploma/GED plus 4 years of relevant experience).

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
