Position: (Contract) Reimbursement Specialist
Employment Type: Contract (6 Month contract with the possibility of extension)

Location: Remote, U.S.-based, (Must be within 100 miles of Portland, OR)
Pay Range: $21 to $27 per hour
Work Location & Training Requirements: This is a remote position with no regular on-site work required and must be performed from an approved U.S.-based work location. Relocation benefits are not provided. Initial training and/or onboarding will require travel of up to one (1) week, with advance notice.
Remote Work & Compliance Requirements: Must have a dedicated, distraction-free workspace with a closing door, separate from common areas. Must maintain a reliable, high-speed internet connection necessary for all job duties. Ensure phone conversations involving Protected Health Information (PHI) cannot be overheard by others and that computer screens are not visible to unauthorized individuals. All work must be conducted via the corporate VPN; local data downloads, unapproved caching, or local tokenization of sensitive records are prohibited. Full adherence to HIPAA, Sensitive Personal Information (SPI) consent governance, and all applicable regional data privacy laws is required.
Position Overview: As a Reimbursement Specialist, you will investigate patients' insurance benefits and obtain prior authorization information for therapies or products as requested by patients or their family members. Responsibilities include identifying network providers, clarifying co-pays, pursuing product coverage in accordance with payer authorization requirements, and maintaining payer profiles by accurately recording data in the system. You will communicate benefit investigation outcomes to internal contacts such as case managers and learn and apply processes for multiple products, ensuring compliant and effective reimbursement service. The Reimbursement Specialist role reports to a supervisor or area manager.
Key Responsibilities: Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats. Work collaboratively within the team structure and appropriately delegate next steps. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and provide exceptional customer service. Maintain high attention to detail and efficiently prioritize tasks. Follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Be prepared for periodic mandatory overtime, including weekends, during times of high volume.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Reimbursement experience preferred. Ability to meet the pay range of $21 to $27 per hour; actual rate determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors.
