The Data Analyst will support the growth of the Credit Union's data culture. This role will be responsible for implementing, enhancing and maintaining our Azure Fabric data warehouse and Power BI environment. In parallel, this role will work to democratize data by creating intuitive, consumable self-service work benches and dashboards in Power BI to drive business critical decisions. Successfully work within the established data governance framework.

Essential Duties:

  • Build and maintain recurring dashboards/reports. Optimize solutions for data requests by leveraging and enhancing existing reporting when possible.
  • Use active inquiry and stakeholder consultation to define the underlying business challenge, ensuring data analyses and reporting provide relevant, value-driven outcomes
  • Complete assigned analysis requests, reports, and ad hoc data inquiries submitted through the Jira ticketing system within established service expectations and timelines.
  • Generate target marketing lists and dashboards in support of the annual campaign calendar and strategic marketing projects.
  • Advise on and enhance reusable credit union data models, semantic models and ontologies to accelerate data driven decisions.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of data analytics, business intelligence tools, data governance, and industry best practices to improve analytical capabilities across the organization.
  • Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making by translating data insights into actionable recommendations and encouraging the effective use of data across business units.
  • Translate complex data concepts, methodologies, and analytical findings into clear, business-relevant language for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Document, communicate, and support the implementation of analytics, reporting, and system changes affecting business processes and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation outlining the purpose, functionality, data sources, assumptions, and intended use of dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions. Ensure reporting solutions align with business requirements, data governance standards, and organizational objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain analytical solutions and processes in compliance with Information Security policies, data privacy requirements, and established governance standards.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are applied to protect confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information during the development, testing, and deployment of reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Participate in projects as requested. Develop time estimates, requirements and scope related to data analytics.
  • Partner with the development team to provide SQL queries and tables to support custom development activities. Partner with the entire Information Systems Team to brainstorm strategies.
  • Write advanced queries in data warehouse to support custom reporting requests. Create executive dashboards in Power BI to support strategic decision making.
  • Identify and create key performance indicators at all levels of the organization from individual to executive-level.
  • Analyze data to provide key insights, trends and recommendations to leaders across the organization.
  • Maintain awareness of trends and advancements in programming technology and apply these advancements into programs as appropriate. Develop and maintain relationships with other Symitar clients to facilitate information sharing regarding programs and programming issues.
  • Actively participate and support an environment that encourages cross training and knowledge sharing.
  • Support the Software and BI Development department by participating as a team member, respond to staff support IS requests. Consistently meet support standard timelines.
  • Demonstrate strong regulatory knowledge applicable to this position and understand and comply with government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US Patriot Act and related regulations.
  • Actively participate and fulfill expectations in the Credit Union Email Security Awareness Program as outlined in the Information Security Program Acknowledgement document.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience. 

Education: Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field). 

Additional Details:

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Location: 1313 Main Street. Vancouver, WA 98660. This is a remote position. Candidates must reside in an approved hiring state: Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Mississippi, Michigan.

Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
