Remote-First with In-Person Training: This position is remote following successful completion of onboarding. New hires are required to attend two weeks of in-person training at our Carrollton, TX corporate office to ensure a smooth and successful transition into the role.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Team Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily activities of the data analysis team involved in designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting data warehouse systems and projects. The role ensures that data reporting, data modeling, and data-related projects run efficiently, supporting organizational objectives and maintaining data quality. The supervisor also acts as the primary point of contact for all data reporting, analytics, and database support needs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Management and Supervision:
  • Provide leadership and oversight in the full lifecycle of data warehouse projects, from planning and design to implementation and support.
  • Supervise a team of Data Warehouse Analysts and Database Administrators, ensuring that workloads are appropriately balanced and deadlines are met.
  • Establish and maintain auditing processes to ensure data accuracy and quality across all data warehouses.

Technical Solution Development:
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions for data reporting and analytics.
  • Develop, create, and modify query-based dashboards, reports, KPIs, and advanced analytics to support decision-making across the organization.
  • Stay current with advancements in data warehousing, business intelligence (BI) technologies, and analytics to bring innovative solutions to the team.

On-Call and Technical Support:
  • Be available for on-call support as assigned by the manager, providing prompt assistance to resolve data reporting and database-related issues.
  • Provide technical advice, assistance, and training to users, helping them understand and utilize data reporting tools effectively.

Documentation and Best Practices:
  • Document and maintain standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation for the data warehouse team.
  • Ensure that best practices for data management, storage, and retrieval are followed across all data warehouse projects.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the department's and organization's goals.

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Data Warehousing and BI Expertise:
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence (BI) technologies, including Power BI and SQL querying.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain complex dashboards, reports, and alerts, as well as to create requirement specifications, technical designs, and user training documents.

Communication and Team Leadership:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and provide clear instructions to team members.

CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 7+ years of experience in a data-focused technology role, with heavy exposure to SQL server databases and Power BI (or similar tools)
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role required.
