The Opportunity

As a Project Manager focused on transformer service projects, you will manage projects through the full lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. You will develop project plans covering scope, schedules, resources, and budgets while coordinating cross-functional teams, subcontractors, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders. The role involves managing project risks, monitoring performance, overseeing costs, and supporting successful project delivery. You will also ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental requirements, contribute to process improvements within the Services Division, and support projects involving transformer technology, maintenance, and repair. Through effective project execution and coordination, you will help maintain reliable power infrastructure while supporting ongoing improvements in project delivery practices.


How You'll Make an Impact

  • Manage transformer service projects through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.

  • Develop project plans that define scope, schedules, resource requirements, and budgets.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and manage project communications.

  • Identify project risks and issues and implement contingency plans.

  • Monitor project performance, track KPIs, and provide updates to management.

  • Manage vendor and third-party contractor performance and project expenditures to support cost-effective delivery.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and tools within the Services Division.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.


Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; or an associate degree with more than 7 years of experience in the transformer/substation field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.

  • Experience managing transformer services or heavy industrial equipment projects.

  • Understanding of transformer technology, maintenance, and repair processes preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, sales teams, and cross-functional project participants.

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.

The expected salary range for this position in California is $118,400.00 - $148,000.00 USD annually. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, education, and location. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits in accordance with company plans and programs.
