Job description

In this role, you will develop analytical insights to identify payment anomalies in client's healthcare claims data. To be successful in the role, you will have sound knowledge and experience with healthcare analytics, data mining, and building dashboards to deliver insights, as well as demonstrating the ability to combine advanced analytics skills with exceptional business acumen. The Senior Data Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex data findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations.
This position is only eligible for legal residents of the United States of America.
This position is a remote position.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Interpretation
  • Develop a deep understanding of the organization's key initiatives and provide analytical solutions that deliver actionable recommendations to support their success.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze healthcare claims and eligibility data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Respond to ad-hoc analytical requests end-to-end - from scoping and pulling data to delivering clear, accurate outputs that stakeholders can act on.
  • Monitor data integrity by conducting regular audits and ensuring accuracy and completeness of datasets.

Data Visualization and Reporting
  • Develop and maintain dashboards using claims and eligibility data that give internal teams the analytical insights they need to support client conversations.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand their goals, challenges, and opportunities, and translate their needs into analytical deliverables.
  • Prepare on-demand analyses and ad-hoc reports with clear, concise findings.
  • Present findings to stakeholders and translate insights into plain-language recommendations that non-technical audiences can understand and act on.

Process Automation and Reporting Efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring data processes, streamline workflows, and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Work closely with internal teams to implement automation and reduce manual effort on recurring tasks.
  • Document analytical methodologies, data workflows, and processes to ensure transparency and consistency across the team.

Business Partner Collaboration
  • Communicate analytical findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences in both written and oral formats.
  • Build strong working relationships with account managers, clinical teams, and operational partners by understanding their reporting needs and responding reliably.

Qualifications:
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, or a related field; or 7+ years of directly relevant experience in healthcare claims analytics in lieu of a degree.

Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of analytical work experience with healthcare claims data.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations in a business environment.

Technical Skills
  • SQL: 5+ years required; strong proficiency in data querying and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare claims and eligibility data structures, including ICD, CPT, DRG, and related coding conventions.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
  • Familiarity with Python for report automation or data manipulation is a plus.

Key Competencies:
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex healthcare claims data and synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy in a compliance-sensitive healthcare environment.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple ad-hoc requests independently while maintaining quality and meeting stakeholder timelines.
  • Effective communicator - able to present complex data findings clearly and concisely in written reports, dashboards, and oral presentations.
  • Stays current on evolving tools, methods, and best practices in healthcare data analytics and applies new approaches where they add value.

This job description serves as a general overview of the role and is not exhaustive. This role may be required to perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the organization's goals and objectives.
