Job description

Position Summary


The preferred candidate will have experience in CAD Drafting and Design. An ideal candidate will work with a team of other drafters and designers to perform structural engineering and building design services for production home builders, custom home builders, and light commercial construction. Ideal candidate to have an architectural design background for national, regional, and custom builders. Candidate must be able to lead drafters on multiple projects and communicate with multiple clients regularly.


Primary Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Self-motivated

  • Ability to work with focus and care.

  • Interest in this field of work.

  • Five years of AutoCAD experience required.

  • Ability to follow complex written and oral instructions on simultaneous assignments.

  • Ability to read design drawings, maps, and sketches.

  • Reasonable ability to sketch concepts for graphic representation.

  • Reasonable ability to perform mathematical and statistical computations.

  • Intermediate knowledge of the techniques, practices, methods, and procedures of building inspection.

  • In-field construction experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of standard construction practices and details.

  • MS Office & Adobe Acrobat skills required.

  • Education in a related field is desired.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US.


Qualifications


Education: Possess an associate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Surveying, or a closely related field from an accredited college, university, or technical school.


Experience: At least (2) years of full-time experience performing computer drafting,

engineering, construction, or architectural work with a focus on CAD.


Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of the techniques, practices, methods, and procedures of AutoCAD or computer-aided design. Ability to communicate with clients verbally, orally, and timely.

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Gmail, and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.

  • Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, the ability to multitask, and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey data ,both internal and external

  • High proficiency with Microsoft and Google applications.

  • Excellent time-management skills with close attention to detail.

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects at a time and communicate withthe client and manager about project status regularly

  • Must be able to guide and manage other drafters on projects.

  • Must understand construction methods and be able to detail unique and complex details as needed on projects.
