Encova Insurance is seeking a Senior Curriculum Specialist to work a hybrid schedule from our Columbus, Ohio corporate office.

This role will report to the Director, Learning and Development.

JOB OBJECTIVE:
Designs, develops, delivers, and improves learning programs that build technical insuranceexpertise, business process knowledge, and management capability across Encova. This role partners with business leaders and subject matter experts to assess needs, define learningobjectives, create role-based learning pathways, supporttraineeand new-hire readiness, and ensure training aligns with business goals, learner needs, technology tools, and compliance requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Conduct learning needs assessments, gather stakeholder input, and define measurable learningobjectivesfor foundational, role-specific, business-area, and management training needs
  • Design consistent learning pathways and resources for underwriting, claims, customer service, trainee classes, new hires, associates, and all levels of management
  • Translate complex insurance concepts, business processes, systems, and operational tools into learner-centered content
  • Create andfacilitateinstructor-led, virtual, self-directed, eLearning, job aid, participant, and foundational training resources
  • Develop technical, onboarding, trainee, new-hire, associate, and management training that supports job application and performance
  • Apply adult learning principles, learner analysis, instructional design best practices, and learner evaluation strategies
  • Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure accuracy, relevance, approvals, and business alignment
  • Pilotnew programs, gather feedback, refine content, and obtainappropriate approvalsbefore broader release
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, resource organization, version control, and shifting priorities as business needs change
  • Evaluate and use eLearning software, collaboration tools, LMS functionality, instructional software, business applications, and distance education tools
  • Support instructional resources and related technology or system access issues as needed
  • Monitor training effectiveness, learner readiness, feedback, system changes, process updates, and regulatory changes to improve learning solutions
OTHER FUNCTIONS:

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLSAND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, insurance, human resources, education, instructional design, or related fieldis preferred
  • 5+ years of Property & Casualty insurance, business operations, training, curriculum development, instructional design, or related experience
  • 3+ years designing curriculum, learning pathways, eLearning, instructor-led or virtual training, job aids, or related resources
  • Experience assessing learning needs, definingobjectives, simplifying complex content, and evaluating learner readiness and training effectiveness
  • Strong facilitation, communication, collaboration, analytical, research, writing, planning, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
  • CPCU, CIC, ARM, AINS, or related insurance designation is preferred
  • Experience with LMS, eLearning tools, collaboration platforms, instructional software, business systems, portals, or operational tools is preferred
