About the Role

Join our Knowledge Management team as a Technical Writer, where you will develop, maintain, and improve our customer-facing product documentation. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, QA Analysts, and other subject matter experts to gather information about new products and features, transforming complex technical details into clear, accessible documentation for customers and internal teams. You will create and maintain documentation for a diverse range of product areas, including ticketing, billing, IT asset management, vulnerability management, security integrations, identity and access management, the public API, and endpoint management. You will also process documentation requests from internal stakeholders, review existing content for accuracy and consistency, and deliver documentation on deadline in a fast-paced, release-driven environment. Your work will enable our customers and staff to use the NinjaOne platform effectively and confidently.

Location: This is a remote role. Candidates must reside in one of the following US states: CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, *IL, KS, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NC, NY, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, and WA.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Creating product documentation and release notes for our SaaS product suite
  • Collaborating with our Product Management, Engineering, and QA teams to gather information about new features, enhancements, and product updates for our customer-facing knowledge base
  • Coordinating with our Localization team to manage documentation translations
  • Auditing our existing knowledge library to improve quality and ensure accuracy
  • Working with a distributed team to champion continuous process improvements aligned with Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) best practices
  • Performing other duties as needed

About You

  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or a similar field is preferred; we will also consider equivalent professional experience.
  • You have at least three years of experience in a corporate technical writing role.
  • You have experience writing customer-facing documentation for SaaS products.
  • You have direct customer enablement experience in documenting or working with enterprise IT management software, including endpoint management platforms, security integrations, or remote monitoring and management (RMM) solutions.
  • You have experience working within a formal content standard or editorial style guide and can apply it with precision.
  • You have experience writing release notes or product-change documentation for software releases.
  • You write for a global audience and understand how sentence construction affects translation quality.
  • You are comfortable working with HTML and using web-based content management systems.
  • Familiarity with Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) or another knowledge management methodology is a strong plus.
  • You have strong attention to detail and high editorial standards.
  • You are self-motivated, skilled at managing your own work, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • You enjoy explaining technical topics clearly and concisely to audiences with varying levels of technical background.
  • You welcome feedback and coaching from managers and stakeholders to develop your skills as a Technical Writer and improve documentation quality.
  • You are confident communicating with peers at all levels, from entry-level employees to senior-level leadership.

*Due to operational policies, NinjaOne is unable to hire for this role within the city limits of Chicago. We will consider all qualified candidates who reside outside of the city proper or are willing to self-relocate.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, and PTO. For roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, or Washington, the base salary hiring range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000 per year.

For roles based in New York, the base salary hiring range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000 per year.
