Job description

Overview:

GovCIO is currently hiring for Deputy Curriculum Manager for the Curriculum Development Team located in Pensacola, Florida, providing day-to-day supervision, technical leadership, and production oversight in support of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) Curriculum Development Program. This position will be located in Pensacola, Florida and will be an in-office position with remote potential negotiable.

Responsibilities:
  • Report directly to the Senior Curriculum Manager and support execution of curriculum development activities by translating strategic priorities into actionable production plans and task assignments.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate curriculum development personnel, fostering technical excellence, professional growth, accountability, and adherence to organizational quality standards.
  • Coordinate daily production activities to ensure curriculum development efforts remain aligned with customer priorities, contractual requirements, established schedules, and program objectives.
  • Assign work, balance workloads, monitor resource utilization, and adjust staffing assignments to maximize production efficiency and meet program milestones.
  • Monitor project schedules, production metrics, and deliverable status, proactively identifying risks, schedule impacts, and resource constraints while recommending appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide recurring production status updates to the Senior Curriculum Manager, identifying accomplishments, upcoming milestones, resource requirements, and potential risks.
  • Ensure curriculum products are developed in accordance with applicable instructional systems development methodologies, customer standards, organizational processes, and contract requirements.
  • Lead technical reviews of curriculum development products throughout the production lifecycle and ensure deliverables are complete, technically accurate, and ready for higher-level quality assurance review.
  • Serve as the secondary functional lead for the Pensacola-based Curriculum Development Team, ensuring consistent application of instructional standards, templates, development processes, and quality management procedures.
  • Coordinate closely with the Learning Standards Office, Subject Matter Experts, Technical Publication Reviewer, Quality Assurance personnel, and other functional teams to support successful curriculum development efforts.
  • Support curriculum project kickoff activities by assisting with production planning, resource allocation, milestone development, and execution strategies for new work efforts.
  • Assist the Senior Curriculum Manager in implementing customer-directed changes, production reprioritization, and schedule adjustments while minimizing impacts to ongoing development activities.
  • Evaluate requested changes to curriculum products and provide recommendations regarding production impacts, resource requirements, schedule adjustments, and implementation strategies.
  • Support front-end analysis activities by coordinating assigned development resources, ensuring analysis products are completed in accordance with established methodologies and quality expectations.
  • Maintain visibility of all active curriculum development efforts and ensure production activities remain synchronized across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Develop and maintain production tracking tools, action item logs, workload reports, and other management artifacts used to monitor execution and communicate program status.
  • Support staffing and workforce planning by identifying resource gaps, forecasting workload demands, and recommending staffing adjustments to the Senior Curriculum Manager.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, production processes, governance documentation, and organizational best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production workflows, quality assurance activities, communication processes, and operational efficiencies through continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as acting Curriculum Manager during the absence of the Senior Curriculum Manager, exercising delegated authority to maintain continuity of operations, production execution, and customer support.
  • Implements and enforces the requirements of the Quality Control Plan (QCP).
  • Ensures curriculum development activities comply with all applicable quality standards, contractual requirements, and documented organizational procedures.
  • Verifies corrective actions resulting from internal quality reviews are completed and documented.
  • Monitors quality metrics and production performance trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates quality assurance activities with Technical Publication Reviewer, Learning Standards personnel, and senior management to ensure deliverables are customer-ready prior to formal QA review.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience)
