Why we need you
Springboard Collaborative invites talented and passionate candidates to apply for the position of K-5 Curriculum Specialist. The K-5 Curriculum Specialist will be responsible for selecting evidence-based classroom materials and supporting teachers in implementing and integrating those materials with fidelity in our programming. A successful candidate will be experienced in product and program strategy, user experience, life cycle management, and brand integrity. This is a remote position, and candidates must reside in the U.S. More information about location and travel can be found below.

Here are your priorities in the first year:

• You will create and refine 3-4 libraries of curriculum universal instructional materials that translate partner curricula into research-aligned, meaningful learning experiences while maintaining instructional integrity and alignment to Springboard's instructional framework.
• You will ensure 100% of literacy and math instructional products demonstrate clear vertical progression, alignment to math and literacy standards, and coherent instructional design across grades, subjects, and product experiences.
• You will actively contribute to at least 4 cross-functional product development initiatives by incorporating stakeholder feedback, collaborating effectively through the co-development process, and meeting agreed-upon project milestones.
• You will proactively implement 3 instructional improvements or product enhancements informed by implementation data, research, and emerging best practices to strengthen the quality, usability, and impact of instructional products.

Here are your responsibilities within and beyond the first year:

• You will design high-quality instructional products that translate Springboard's instructional vision into engaging learning experiences for students, educators, and families.
• • Use deep content knowledge in literacy and mathematics to develop research-based K-5 literacy and mathematics instructional products.
  • Apply evidence-based instructional practices, academic standards, learning progressions, and assessment knowledge to ensure instructional integrity, coherence, and rigor.
  • Develop instructional products that are intuitive, accessible, and designed for successful implementation across diverse partner contexts.
• You will autonomously drive end-to-end project management and execution for multiple curriculum development initiatives.
• • Support instructional product development from initial requests through final delivery, balancing priorities, timelines, quality, and implementation needs.
  • Exercise sound instructional and design judgment to independently move work forward, anticipate risks, identify solutions, and maintain initiative.
• You will design innovative instructional approaches and product features informed by the Universal Design for Learning and culturally responsive design principles that improve teaching, learning, and family engagement.
• • Prototype, test, and refine innovative solutions that strengthen Springboard's instructional portfolio and expand the impact of our products over time.
  • Explore emerging research, instructional practices, and educational technologies to inform product innovation and continuous improvement.
• You will effectively collaborate across teams to build cohesive instructional products that meet educator and learner needs.
• • Incorporate educator, student, family, and partner profiles and feedback to strengthen instructional products and improve usability.
  • Contribute instructional expertise during collaborative design sessions, curriculum reviews, and iterative development cycles to strengthen instructional products.
• You will continuously improve instructional products by using research and data to strengthen quality and impact.
• • Analyze implementation data, educator feedback, assessment results, and user research to identify opportunities for product improvement.
  • Evaluate instructional products for instructional quality, accessibility, coherence, alignment, and overall effectiveness.
  • Recommend and implement improvements that enhance learner outcomes, educator experience, and long-term product sustainability.

• Brand Integrity: You deliver error-free, high-quality curriculum products and features that uphold and further the Springboard Collaborative brand, inspiring investment and ensuring mission consistency across all channels and stakeholders.
• Evidence-Based Insights & Data Literacy: You interpret data sets to identify causes behind shifts and trends and generate actionable insights that drive curriculum design and development.
• Strategic Alignment: You ensure daily outputs and individual tasks connect to the organization's long-term roadmap and priorities, asking clarifying questions to understand the broader context of organizational shifts.
• You have 5+ years of experience creating curricula for grades K-5 math and literacy.
• You have a proven track record of positively impacting family engagement in a K-12 educational setting.
• You have experience working in ed-tech or the curriculum development space.

It would also be nice if you had:

• You have a Master's degree in education.
• Experience working with large U.S. public school districts.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (i.e. Agile or Waterfall frameworks)
• Experience working as an elementary school classroom teacher and/or instructional coach.

Compensation
Our compensation values: At Springboard, compensation equity is integral to the way we operate and our commitment to competitiveness, pay equity, performance-based rewards, transparent & equitable career growth, and progressive benefits.
Compensation for this role: Each role at Springboard is placed in a compensation band with 5 levels. Generally, we expect candidates who meet all the hiring criteria to be offered the midpoint of the band. This role sits within Band 3. The midpoint of this band is $87,188.09. The actual level of the successful candidate (and corresponding salary) will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, and other factors. You may also be eligible for Springboard's bonus program.
Our process to determine compensation: Springboard does not negotiate the offered salary during the offer conversation. Throughout the interview process, we will evaluate your alignment with the compensable factors listed in the job description. From there, we will determine your starting salary on a level within the job band.

Location and travel
Applications are welcome from any location within the United States. This role can be performed remotely, with quarterly travel to participate in team and org-wide retreats. Springboard Collaborative's headquarters office is in Philadelphia, PA.
Springboard requires in-person employees at a Springboard facility or participating in in-person programming or events to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless a medical or religious exemption is approved. Being fully vaccinated means an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of a CDC-authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees will be asked to provide their COVID-19 vaccination status and proof of vaccination, as required.
