Position Overview

Crystal Lake Families & Kids Services is seeking a compassionate and driven Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) to join our team in a remote capacity. This role is integral to our mission of providing high-quality behavioral health services to families and children in the Beltsville, Maryland area and beyond. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing therapeutic interventions and guidance that foster emotional and mental growth among our clients, while also adhering to federal and agency protocols.

About the Organization

Crystal Lake Families & Kids Services is a multifaceted outpatient clinic that combines obstetrics, pediatrics, general medicine, family planning, and dental services, all under one roof. Our dedicated staff focuses on addressing the myriad social issues impacting our community through education, intervention, and management. We pride ourselves on confidentiality and accept a variety of health insurances, including Medicaid and Medicare, allowing us to serve a wide range of patients effectively.

Work Environment

This full-time remote position allows for flexible scheduling based on patient appointment needs, ensuring a work-life balance while maintaining productivity targets. Although primarily remote, counselors may occasionally interact with our outpatient facility in Beltsville when needed to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Access to teletherapy tools and clinical documentation systems will be provided to facilitate seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance to primary care providers on identifying, treating, and managing mental health and psychosocial issues, enhancing the overall team approach to patient care.
  • Conduct thorough patient intakes, focusing on diagnostic and functional evaluations to inform treatment plans and ensure tailored interventions for each client.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers to ensure patients receive appropriate mental health services, advising when referrals to specialty care are necessary.
  • Implement follow-up strategies to assess patient progress and adjust treatment recommendations based on real-time feedback.
  • Develop and document relapse prevention plans while assisting clients in maintaining stable functioning.
  • Monitor at-risk patients and create proactive plans aimed at preventing deterioration of their mental health.
  • Coordinate care with external and internal healthcare providers, with the patient's consent, to create a holistic approach to health management.
  • Maintain detailed clinical records and prepare reports to track patient progress, ensuring all documentation adheres to both agency standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Educate patients on self-management techniques, encouraging active participation in their own recovery journey.
  • Offer consultative support to clinic management and team members to refine service delivery and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned that contribute to the success of patient care programs.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience
