Allenton Psychotherapy Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team as a full-time Remote Crisis Intervention Counselor. • Conduct thorough crisis assessments and immediate interventions for clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
• Provide compassionate support and counseling to individuals who are in immediate distress, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed to safeguard clients during critical situations.
• Facilitate follow-up care by developing personalized care plans that outline ongoing support options and resources.
• Utilize crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation protocols to manage high-stress scenarios effectively.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance crisis counseling methods and techniques.

The primary focus of this role will be individuals grappling with substance misuse and mental health crises. This includes clients facing trauma, emotional upheaval, suicidal ideation, and other severe psychological disturbances. Counselors will employ a culturally sensitive approach, ensuring care is appropriate and effective for a diverse client base.

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• A minimum of three years of post-graduate experience focusing on crisis intervention and mental health counseling.
• Substantial training in crisis counseling methodologies and trauma-informed care practices.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques, particularly in crisis situations.

• Experience in providing telehealth counseling services and familiarity with teletherapy tools and platforms.
• Demonstrated success in building rapport and trust with clients facing significant emotional distress.
• Knowledge of ethical and legal considerations in crisis intervention and mental health practices.
