What is a remote credit risk?

A Remote Credit Risk job involves analyzing and assessing the financial risk associated with lending or extending credit to individuals or businesses, all while working from a remote location. Professionals in this field evaluate credit applications, monitor existing accounts, and help develop policies to minimize financial losses for their employer. They typically use data analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessment tools to make informed decisions. Remote roles in credit risk allow for flexible work arrangements, but still require strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote credit risk analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Credit Risk Analyst, you need strong analytical abilities, knowledge of financial principles, and typically a degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Familiarity with risk assessment software, statistical tools like SAS or R, and credit reporting systems is essential. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills help you interpret data and collaborate effectively from a distance. These skills and qualifications are crucial to accurately assess creditworthiness, minimize risk, and support sound financial decisions in a remote environment.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in remote credit risk roles, and how can they be addressed?

Remote credit risk professionals often face challenges such as limited direct access to clients and colleagues, which can make it harder to gather nuanced information and collaborate efficiently. To address these, it's important to leverage digital communication tools and maintain proactive communication with both internal teams and external stakeholders. Building strong documentation and adopting clear workflows also help ensure consistency in risk evaluation while working remotely. Regular virtual meetings and continuous professional development can further support success and connection in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end commercial support for complex, non-standard transactions, including pricing structure, discounting strategies, and standard concessions.

  • Negotiate commercial and contractual redlines directly with sellers, sales leadership, and customers, partnering with Legal on significant risk deviations.

  • Resolve high-friction deal escalations independently and translate recurring deal friction into standardized approval guidance, playbooks, and workflow improvements.

Job description

The Problem
As Flock continues to expand its commercial reach, transaction structures and commercial terms are growing increasingly nuanced. Moving strategic, higher-risk deals through quote-to-cash without introducing friction requires strong judgment and commercial maturity. You will take this from standard deal execution to a high-velocity support model, balancing seller momentum, company economics, and operational rigor.
What You'll Own
  • Lead end-to-end commercial support for complex, non-standard transactions, including pricing structure, discounting strategies, and standard concessions.
  • Negotiate nuanced commercial and contractual redlines directly with sellers, sales leadership, and customers, partnering with Legal on significant risk deviations.
  • Resolve high-friction deal escalations independently, serving as a trusted point of escalation for cross-functional stakeholders in Finance, Legal, RevOps, and Systems.
  • Translate recurring deal friction and gray-area exceptions into standardized approval guidance, playbooks, exception taxonomies, and workflow improvements.
  • Evaluate quote-to-cash workflows to help define which transactions require human support versus those that can transition to guided self-service or automated tools.
  • Coach less experienced team members to raise overall commercial capability, handoff quality, and transaction readiness across the revenue operations team.

What This Role is Not
  • This isn't an order entry or passive administration role, you'll actively shape deal structures, negotiate commercial tradeoffs, and guide sellers within commercial guardrails.
  • This isn't a pure Legal redline function, you'll evaluate the commercial and operational tradeoffs of contract modifications and involve Legal only when policy limits or risk thresholds require it.
  • This is not a management position, but you will operate as an independent commercial lead, coaching peers and driving operational improvements across the function.

What You Bring
  • 7+ years of experience in Deal Desk, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, or quote-to-cash support functions in a B2B SaaS or technology company.
  • Proven ability to independently structure semi-complex and complex deals, manage pricing negotiations, and resolve cross-functional escalations without management intervention.
  • Direct experience negotiating commercial terms and contractual redlines with sales leaders and customer counterparts.
  • Deep proficiency with Salesforce required, along with experience using CPQ systems to manage approval workflows and transaction structures.
  • Demonstrated track record of contributing to operational initiatives, including workflow optimization, policy clarification, or sales enablement assets.

Compensation
In this role, you'll receive a starting salary between $93,000 and $115,000 as well as Flock Stock Options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in depth with you during our first chat.
Why Flock
Every community deserves to be safe. Flock builds the technology that makes that real: last year we supported over 1 million criminal investigations and helped locate more than 10,000 missing people. We're 1,700 people building the impossible with over $1B in funding, and the expectations are high on purpose. If you want a role where the stakes are real and the pace matches, this is it.
Some problems get solved faster in the same room, so we prioritize candidates in Atlanta and Boston. Hub-based roles mean real in-person time with your coworkers. Remote roles exist, and when a posting is open to remote work, it says so.
the impossible takes every kind of mind. Flock is an equal opportunity employer, and we know the best solutions come from diverse perspectives, experiences, and skills working together with mutual respect. Everyone is welcome to apply. If you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, email recruiting@flocksafety.com; your information stays confidential and is used only to arrange the right accommodation for your interviews.
On compensation: we pay fairly for the work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education, training, and market indicators. The range in this posting covers base salary only and doesn't include equity, sales bonus plans where applicable, or benefits. The range may be adjusted over time, and this posting may span more than one career level.
One last thing: all legitimate communication from Flock comes from an email ending in @flocksafety.com or noreply@ashbyhq.com. We never make offers through messaging apps or third parties, and we never request payment or sensitive personal information during hiring. If you encounter suspicious outreach about a Flock role, report it to recruiting@flocksafety.com.
