Our TPO Underwriting Department is looking to hire a Manager of Non-QM Credit Risk Solutions.

ALL REMOTE POSITIONS REQUIRE A DOWNLOAD SPEED OF NO LESS THAN 100 MBPS.

Job Title: Manager of Non-QM Credit Risk Solutions

Reports To: AVP of Non-QM Credit Risk

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: TPO Underwriting

Division: Non-QM TPO

Salary Range: $120K to $140K per year

Summary:

This individual is responsible for developing and implementing credit risk management strategies, policies and procedures to ensure sound lending practices and minimize credit losses. The Manager of Non-QM Credit Risk Solutions will have oversight of the Exception and Scenario Desks and will be tasked with structuring loans to meet NQM Lending Guidelines and offering solutions to assist our sales partners, both internally and externally. The primary focus is to ensure that the company is effectively balancing loan level and client level risk while also growing the business through providing superior service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of the NonQM Exception Desk, ensuring Exceptions are reviewed according to the companyโ€™s risk appetite, are decisioned in a timely manner, and are monitored and tracked.
  • Provide monthly reporting to the Division on Exception Activity, including volume of exceptions received, decisions issued, common approved and denied exceptions, as well as any themes to share with the Division.
  • Maintain the Exception Policy and Approval Form. Make and/or request updates as needed and ensure updates are distributed appropriately to all parties.
  • Management of the Scenario Desk, ensuring scenario requests are evaluated and solutions are provided to maximize the business opportunities for our sales partners, both internally and externally.
  • Provide guidance and support to Underwriting Managers and the team. Address escalations or concerns with files in process, working towards resolution and supporting the underwriting team.
  • Complete second level review on loan files as needed.
  • Work with our offshore underwriting vendors to ensure they are meeting or exceeding our quality, quantity, and customer service standards.
  • Work closely with post-closing and channel leadership to cure investor suspensions.
  • Review PFQC quality control results and work with the underwriters to get defects cured.
  • Assist Underwriting Managers with information for regular team meetings to ensure clear communication to the department and sharing and implementing of best practices.
  • Assist with underwriting onboarding, as necessary.
  • Effectively communicate to our sales and operations partners, including providing direction and support on credit and underwriting related topics.

Education/Experience:

  • Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 5+ years prior underwriting management experience required.
  • 10+ years underwriting experience with complex loan scenarios including manual underwriting expertise
  • 5+ years Non-QM underwriting experience
