Associate Director, Global Trade Investigations & Disclosures (Remote)

We are seeking an Associate Director to join the Collins Aerospace Central Global Trade Investigations and Disclosures Team, which falls under Collins Aerospace's Legal, Contracts and Compliance function. The role will report to the Director & Assistant General Counsel leading the Central GT I&D Team and support the Director & Assistant General Counsel on all matters falling within the Team's purview, as described below.

The Associate Director will handle complex internal global trade investigations, assess compliance with Collins Aerospace's internal policies, analyze potential violations of U.S. and foreign export control laws and regulations, with a focus on the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR") and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR"), and draft disclosures of such violations for submission to relevant government agencies. The selected candidate must have extensive experience conducting corporate internal investigations and must have deep knowledge of the EAR and ITAR.

The Associate Director will also help oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Central GT I&D Team and lead and execute major projects. As part of these tasks, the Associate Director may oversee and manage members of the Central GT I&D Team.

What You Will Do:

  • Investigate suspected violations of U.S. and non-U.S. export control laws and regulations.
  • Draft disclosures to U.S. and non-U.S. government agencies regarding violations of export control laws.
  • Manage and oversee an active investigative caseload using RTX's matter management tool.
  • Work collaboratively with members of Collins Aerospace's broader Global Trade team to identify the root causes of regulatory and policy violations and to develop robust corrective actions.
  • Brief Corporate and Collins Aerospace leadership on the status of ongoing global trade investigations.
  • Document the closure of matters that do not give rise to a reasonable suspicion of a regulatory violation.
  • Respond to governmental inquiries and data requests.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of Collins Aerospace and RTX policies, standard work, and processes for global trade compliance.
  • Audit and assess employee compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Train and counsel employees on regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Perform data searches within company systems, pull reports, and analyze data and trends to identify compliance weaknesses and craft actionable improvement steps.
  • Manage discrete projects, some of which will require oversight and management of members of the Central GT I&D Team.


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of legal experience in Global Trade
  • In-depth knowledge of the EAR and ITAR
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven project and team management skills

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
