Job description

Legal Operations Manager /Remote
Competitive Compensation + Premium Medical, Dental & Vision Coverage
Why You Should Choose Steno
  • Wins together - Stock options included. When Steno grows, you grow.
  • Invests in you - Premium Medical, Dental, & Vision Coverage - options for you and your family - well above industry benchmarks.
  • Constantly innovates with technology at our core - We are a modern organization solving real problems in an industry that needs a revolutionary approach.
  • Flexibility built in - Fully remote, flexible PTO, and a home office stipend plus monthly internet/phone allowance.
  • Small team, big impact - You'll work directly with the General Counsel and have real ownership over the legal tech stack and operations from day one.
  • Build something that lasts - This is a greenfield role; you're not inheriting someone else's half-finished system. You're designing it.

Why Legal Ops at Steno Is Different
  • No bureaucracy, no bloat - We're a Slack-first, two-attorney team. You'll move fast, make real decisions, and skip the enterprise approval circus.
  • Cross-functional from day one - You'll partner directly with Sales, Finance, HR, and IT/Security - not just support Legal.
  • High-volume, high-variety contract work - Provider agreements, client contracts, vendor deals, and compliance programs across a network of court reporters, videographers, interpreters, and process servers.
  • You own the stack - CLM evaluation, matter management, automation, renewals, budget tracking, playbooks. It's yours to build and run.

You'll be a self-starter who thrives without heavy oversight, and takes projects from zero to done. This is a hands-on role for someone who gets energy from building the first version of something and finishing it - even through the messy middle. You'll crush this role if you have 3+ years of legal ops experience, in-house legal department background, hands-on contract management software experience, and a track record of driving cross-functional initiatives to completion.
Compensation & Benefits - Your Growth Potential
  • Salary: $100,000-$120,000
  • Equity: Stock options included
  • Benefits: Generous company-sponsored health, vision, and dental; wellness/mental health benefits
