Job description

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 26 branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets. (In New Century, KS, Lebanon, TN, and Rockford, IL � we do business as: Olathe Millworks, Warren Brother Sash & Door, River City Millworks respectfully.)
Position: We are seeking a Procurement Specialist. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of products while maintaining cost-efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen understanding of the lumber industry. Primarily remote position based out of Mid-West or West Coast areas with occasional travel to branch locations required.

Your Day-to-Day:
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors. Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure the best deals.
  • Procurement Planning: Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet the company's needs for lumber and building materials. Analyze market trends and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
  • Order Management: Place orders, monitor inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of products. Manage and resolve any issues related to order fulfillment and quality.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and analyze purchasing costs. Develop strategies to reduce expenses and improve cost-efficiency while maintaining product quality.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure optimal stock levels. Assist in forecasting demand and adjusting procurement schedules as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information. Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, costs, and performance metrics.
  • Compliance: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and legal regulations. Stay updated on industry standards and best practices.

Should You Apply?
